Who is important?

I was watching TV for a few minutes earlier and all they reported about was Martha Stewart getting out of jail, and the Whacko Jackson trial. The media really glorifies the rich and famous when they do something wrong. I could really care less about Martha or Michael. They bore me to sleep and I have never been into their lifestyle. It bothered me back when the Scott Peterson crap was on too. Although I am happy to see he got the death penalty for what he did to Laci, I wondered how many others had been murdered and mutilated like she was, but that we didn’t hear about. While the media is busy fawning and drooling and over the likes of Scott Peterson, a young boy was murdered by his own father. Not just murdered. Butchered. How come this didn’t get national coverage?
Ivan Henk was sentenced to life in prison Friday for killing his 4-year-old son, concluding one of Nebraska’s more dramatic recent murder cases.
But, for the boy’s mother, the case is not over. Rebecca Gonzalez still yearns to find her son’s body.
Brendan Gonzalez was last seen Jan. 3, 2003, at home in Plattsmouth.
Henk, 27, pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the boy’s death last month, days before his trial was to start.
In exchange, prosecutors eliminated the possibility of Henk dying in the electric chair. Life in prison was the only sentence available to the judge Friday.
More startling details emerged after the plea: Henk planned the crime for up to a year, and he decapitated Brendan to kill him.
Cass County Attorney Nathan Cox said the way Brendan was killed was the only aggravating factor in the case and might not have been enough to send Henk to death row. Cox said he thought the mitigating factors, such as Henk’s upbringing and lack of a substantial previous criminal history, could outweigh that.
Judges weigh aggravating and mitigating circumstances when considering whether to sentence a defendant to death.
WTF? Who decides what gets national TV coverage and what doesn’t? Who decided that Michael Jackson is more important than this little boy? Why did we see hour after hour of live reporting when Jackson showed up for his court appearance, all decked out and ready to perform in front of the court house? Did anyone really care?
Are Americans really so in love with Hollywood that we forget about who makes Hollywood rich?
And why did the judge in this case allow such a plea? I don’t know what to think. Anyone who kills a little kid, in this manner, planned for over a year, deserves to DIE a horrible and bloody death IMHO. Vince has some excellent thoughts about this, and funny ones too. But it should make people think about who is important. Whacko and Martha, or average Americans being killed and murdered every day.

What kind of a sick bastard does this to not only a kid but his own kid?
My son is five and I cant imagie the sickl twisted demeneted warped mind this man has….FUKFUKFUKFU FKIF……..ok.I wnt and yelled at the goat and smoked a cigarette and am better now………tis man desereves to die in the most horrid way possible….I wonder if he ahd the compassion to knock the kid out first?

how can the only aggravating factor be the way he killed his son? And why is past criminal history even a consideration in a case like this? I don’t care of he was a fucking saint that healed lepers…..he should die from this….I hope they have to keep him in solitary forever….I hope the minnute he steps into the prison population that someone with a life sentence and nothing to lose cuts him from asshole to adams apple……ther eis no death that is fitting this man….I can be an evil bastard and I can’t come up with anyting heinious enough for him.
