A doctor questions Terri’s CAT SCAN. Go read it.
I HAVE SEEN MANY WALKING, TALKING, FAIRLY COHERENT PEOPLE WITH WORSE CEREBRAL/CORTICAL ATROPHY. THEREFORE, THIS IS IN NO WAY PRIMA FACIE EVIDENCE THAT TERRI SCHIAVO’S MENTAL ABILITIES OR/OR CAPABILITIES ARE COMPLETELY ERADICATED. I CANNOT BELIEVE SUCH TESTIMONY HAS BEEN GIVEN ON THE BASIS OF THIS SCAN.

The case for reasonable doubt is profound from a medical and scientific standpoint alone. And yet she has fewer rights than an accused criminal.
CAT scans are very primitive and can only suggest level of function – just a fancy x-ray. MRI or fMRI is unfortunately out of the question because of the metal implants she has, but PET should be able to reveal some actual physiologic data on her brain state. I’ve not heard anything about whether there are EEG data.

Her husband has refused any EEG tests, from what I hear.

But there is no conflict of interest in Michael S. Taking all of the money that was supposed to support Terri and provide rehab, and going his own separate way while leaving his WIFE to starve to death.
