Raven, bear with me for a moment. suppose that there were no penalties for reporting an error you made. How would you weed out those people who just screw up way too often? if there is any kind of disciplinary action that in of itself will serve as a deterrent to reporting. but if someone can screw up with impunity, how do you protect patients from someone who clearly does not have the patient’s well being first and foremost in thier minds?
Most the time, those who are just BAD people who work in medicine get fetted out by their peers…who report them. It’s the damn state boards who oversee these people who allow them to continue to stay licecensed. It’s a sucky system for sure. Those who mess up by mistake at least feel bad for the rest of their lives. Is that enough of a punishment? I don’t know-especially when it comes to deadly medical errors.

Raven, just be glad you new englanders only have to deal with this sort of thing for two or three weeks a year. In Houston that is pretty much normal from about May to September. I recall one christmas day about 10 years ago where it was 85 degrees outside!
LOL…after that storm the temp dropped 20 degrees. It’s been cool and sunny eversince. It’s 80 degrees here now, but at 9am today it was a mere 58 degrees. (and sunny). I complain about the weathuh up here but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Keeps life exciting and one never has to worry about extreme temps for too long.

Yeah it’s been nice today. This am was nice and cool…awesome roller bladin weather. :) Actually that message was more about me starting to feel at home again…all the extra work is coming to an end; I have decided to stop wasting my time with useless and dead projects; getting into more important things, living my life the way I want too…you know, all that housecleaning crap we all have to do every now and again. It feels good. ;)

I read your posts through RSS and I noticed since your upgrade (1.5.1.3 I assume) that the feed now comes through as text only. Nothing wrong with that – it loads faster and is more bandwidth friendly for you. The only problem is that the text is super small. I haven’t tried my hand at styling a feed, but I’m sure that can be tweaked. Just thought you’d like to know :wink:
