Shame on Italy
Posted by Raven on August 26th, 2005
I read this and it pissed me off so much I couldn’t think of any words to write that would be non x rated. I decided to wait until today to see if I could come up with something. I can’t…so I turn to my friend Kender, who adds some interesting facts to this story:
By now you have all seen the story linked in the title about the italian red cross, (supposedly not affiliated with the ICRC) hiding terrorists that the U.S. military was hunting in exchange for releasing two italian aid workers that had been taken hostage.
Italy has really let us down. By doing this, they have undermined the war on terror; the terrorists will do this to them time and time again. While it is respectful that indivdual human lives were saved here, I wonder about how many will be sacrificed because of this in the future.
Kender enlightened me:
We give a lot of aid to those damnable commie’s, (italy), and they stab us in the back like the cowards they are. They are no better than the terrorists, only instead of guns and bombs they use deception and treachery.
Here is what we gave italy in aid for the last four years:
2001; 1.493 BILLION
2002; 2.313 BILLION
2003; 2.393 BILLION
2004; 2.484 BILLION
TOTAL?
EIGHT BILLION SIX HUNDRED EIGHTY THREE MILLION OF YOUR HARD EARNED TAX DOLLARS WENT TO A COUNTRY THAT BETRAYED US!!!!!!
Damn.

Only American olive oil and California merlot from now on.What compells the US gov’t. to give away that much money? What’s in it for us?I know Italy can’t be the only country out there giving us the ol’ reach-around with one hand and stabbin’ in the back with the other.WTF!!!!????

Olive oil and chiante, LOL, those same two items crossed my mind.
All I can say about this, is mama-f****n’-mia!!!! What else might they be doing that they’re neglecting to tell us about?

`Prophet!’ said I, `thing of evil! – prophet still, if bird or devil! -
Whether tempter sent, or whether tempest tossed thee here ashore,
Desolate yet all undaunted, on this desert land enchanted -
On this home by horror haunted – tell me truly, I implore -
Is there – is there balm in Gilead? – tell me – tell me, I implore!’
Quoth the raven, `Nevermore.’
Just out of curiousity, how many of your readership has a passport and travelled out of the USA within the past year?
Curious.

Fun Monkey,
Have you read Oriana Fallaci?
August 28th, 2005 at 12:17 am
You know, bringing Oriani Fallaci into this post by Raven is quite beautiful. God, even as Oriani graces into her mid 70s, something must be appreciated about her humble beginnings. Too bad however, she spent far too much time with us and lost some of the subjective writings that made her an international star. Bright woman.
The doctrine she commentated on post 9/11 is interesting and in same places quite true. Unofrtunately, yet again, Europe has to deliver the knock out punch that America can’t quite manage on its own. I just came back from a great dinner featuring an able cast of characters – islam is finally going home after far too much tolerance across the globe. Instead of a Christian jihad, Europe and the rest of the world sans USA have gone back to their roots. We don’t want islamic fundamentalism and frankly, they have their own place called the middle east. Iraq, some might argue, is a staging ground for a greater war on terror role call, but, thank god, its become a shithole created by our own stupidity. On fox there was a question of 1900 soldiers dead for the capture of Saddam. I take a more pragmatic viewpoint, 1900 dead for a twat that kept a piece of shit country together stuck with debiliting sanctions worth 1900? No effing chance.
Damn, I hate being conservative. It makes me more angry every day that the “war on terror” as told by my savior isn’t an effective use of our economic and military prowness. Someone dropped the ball on this one and it wasn’t Duke.
I digress, but my point? Shit, I don’t have one ;) Not. It takes a great amount of insular thinking, quite popular back in the roman days mind you, to lose an empire. Hence my simple question of how people have a passport and have been out of the country….
Ignorance never has nor shall be an excuse for a soverign nation to stoop to such mediocracy without even a hint of style.

Italian red cross is part of the international red cross. At that time they were not hiding terrorists but they were proving how the italian goverment was paying the kidnappers for the release of the hostages. The numbers you wrote down are not money that comes from the Us goverment but it’s money who come from the OECD and US in the same years got aroun 12 billion per year.
Shut Your Mouth or talk about things at least you know.
