Too bizarre for words!

Vodkapundit pointed me over to the Booman Tribune: Unauthorized Reproduction bill has been drafted. I really, really couldn’t believe this was true, so I looked at the .pdf file of the draft.
Color me shocked. I mean, really shocked! What the hell is Indiana thinking?!
Sen. Miller believes the requirement of marriage for parenting is for the benefit of the children that result from infertility treatments.
"We did want to address the issue of whether or not the law should allow single people to be parents. Studies have shown that a child raised by both parents – a mother and a father – do better. So, we do want to have laws that protect the children," she explained.
When asked specifically if she believes marriage should be a requirement for motherhood, and if that is part of the bill’s intention, Sen. Miller responded, "Yes. Yes, I do."
Hey, I support marriage and the family to the utmost. I believe that the best thing for children is to be raised in a home where there’s a mom and a dad who are married and doing their best for each other and for the kids.
But this is just too "1984" , "Brave New World" or "THX1138" — hell, it’s even too "Logan’s Run"! — for me.

“…even too Logan’s run,” LOL!
It does sound a little “We are in control”ish, doesn’t it? “You will do nothing that we will not see, in any room of your home…”
