When Pigs Fly

What is the world coming to? Over in Great Britain, SOME people are offended by the time-honored traditional use of the PIGGY BANK, to save coins and monies. Muslims in particular are offended. Give me a break. Banks over there will no longer be giving out the little glazed collectables to customers. I have a piggy bank from my childhood days, and my kids have their’s as well. When Mustang ever sent this story around, I just about went bezerk. LOL
British banks are banning piggy banks because they may offend some Muslims.
Halifax and NatWest banks have led the move to scrap the time-honoured symbol of saving from being given to children or used in their advertising, the Daily Express/Daily Star group reports here.
Muslims do not eat pork, as Islamic culture deems the pig to be an impure animal.
Salim Mulla, secretary of the Lancashire Council of Mosques, backed the bank move.
I say, everyone put out their piggy banks in honor of the tradition and the hell with those who are “offended” by it. It’s THEIR problem, not mine! Donkeys offend me; it is the symbol of the Democrats…yet I don’t go around insisting they stop using it. The fact is if we don’t want to “offend” everyone and anyone, we would have to stop being who we are, period. That’s stupid. Some people in this world need to get a grip on reality and live within the realities of human nature.
Here is the history of the piggy bank:
Dogs bury bones. Squirrels gather nuts to last through the winter. Camels store food and water so they can travel many days across deserts. But do pigs save anything? No! Pigs save nothing. They bury nothing. They store nothing.
So why do we save our coins in a piggy bank? Because someone made a mistake. During The Middle Ages, in about the fifteenth century, metal was expensive and seldom used for household wares. Instead, dishes and pots were made of an economical clay called pygg. Whenever housewives could save an extra coin, they dropped it into one of their clay jars.They called this their pygg bank or their piggy bank.
Over the next two hundred to three hundred years, people forgot that “pygg” referred to the earthenware material. In the nineteenth century when English potters received requests for piggy banks, they produced banks shaped like a pig. Of course, the pigs appealed to the customers and delighted the children.

Seriously… the piggy bank?
Why dont the Muslims just not use one?
Better yet, why does anyone care what they think? Is this becuase Turkey is about to be their new buddy?

Now, I think that I understand why the Muslims think that America is so depraved. They hear that Congress spends billions of dollars on pork.

Just another concession of many, and a stupid one to boot.
This is one of the things that angers me the most about multiculturalism: It’s not a 2-way street, we westerners always get the brown end of the infamous “stick.”
THOSE people are coming HERE, we should not have to modify anything in our way of life to suit them, if anything at all, it should be the opposite, like:
“Before you come to the U.S. with the intention of staying,
This is America, this is how we do things here. We eat lots of pork here, and love it. We respect and treasure our womenfolk here, and they are equal to men both socially and in the marketplace. We are primarily a Judeo-Christian nation {etc, etc, and at the end}, If you feel you might have a problem with any of this, don’t come here.”
That’s the way it is in their countries, and when they see us bending over backwards to change our institutions, no matter how small, just to kiss their hind quarters, it only makes us appear dubious about our own culture and encourages them to seek further “concessions” in our lifestyle to accommodate their whims — we are America, not France, or haven’t the PC crowd heard?
My version of PC in this case is a size 11 boot with an INS heel imprint.

Silly Mohammedans. Next they’ll be wanting the Brits to stop rioting at soccer matches. Shame on the banks for caving to the Mooslims. WHY are they aiding in the colonization of Great Britain?
Extra credit: Why is the camel called ‘The ship of the Sea’? Hmmm…Because it’s filled with Arab seamen. O.K., so it’s only funny when it’s spoken.

I feel the need to go shake enough coinage from my piggy bank to go out and get a ham sandwich. Let me go get my brushed pigskin Hushpuppies and piglet neck tie wo ear at work.
then come home and get up a pick-up game of foot ball and toss around the ol’ pigskin.

by something we do. Hell, Iv’e lost
count of things we have stopped because
of some ethnic group didn’t like.
