6 Yr. Old Suspended for Sexual Harassment…

Only in MA do they take things TOO far. Children of this age are playing. It’s the grown ups who have a problem here, and now this little boy will be ridiculed and teased…another example of how boys really do get the raw end of the stick.
BROCKTON – A Brockton first grader was suspended for three days after school officials said he sexually harassed a girl in his class by allegedly putting two fingers inside the girl’s waistband while she sat on the floor in front of him.
The boy’s mother, Berthena Dorinvil, said she “screamed” about last week’s suspension from Downey Elementary School, and added her son doesn’t know what sexual harassment is.
“He doesn’t know those things,” she told The Enterprise of Brockton. “He’s only 6 years old.”
School officials declined comment to The Enterprise, citing the child’s age.
“They would have not suspended the child without doing an investigation,” said spokeswoman Cynthia McNally.
Dorinvil said the school principal, Diane Gosselin, called her to pick up her son Jan. 30. She said her son asked the principal if the police were going to come get him.The principal told Dorinvil the girl complained to the teacher after her son touched the girl’s waistband, hitting her skin, in a room full of children.
Dorinvil said her son told her he touched the girl’s shirt, not her skin, after the girl touched him.
“He was playing with her,” Dorinvil said.

Get this: A student at my school exposed himself in front of a teacher and another student. Basically his “baggy pants” were too baggy. He bent over to pick something up and when he stood up his pants dropped to his ankles. Unfortunately for the teacher standing behind him, well…it seems he forgot one important article of clothing.
The teacher freaked, ushered the kid out of the room, wrote him up and sent him along to the office.
Guess what he got?
2 days of “in school suspension”

Heck, here in NC about a year and a half ago, a 6-year old got suspended for kissing a girl! And she didn’t complain, the teacher did!

Really??? So this isn’t anything out of the ordinary? Little kids being kicked out of school for harassment-kids that don’t even understand the word. WTF???????

I can not believe that this school would go this far – My 6 yr old doesn’t even know what harassment is and now this poor kid is going to be marked for life. The school officials/faculty involved in this should be ashamed and if I was this poor childs mother I would be talking to a lawyer and have their jobs.
This is clearly a case of someone letting power go to their head. We talk about issues going to far but what about the punishments-this CHILD should not be treated like a young adult, infact the adults should be treated like children and someone should explain to them the difference between right and wrong.
I hope that this mother fights tooth and nail for that little boy and I hope to see the school officials/faculty in the unemployment line.
They don’t have the education or intelligence to be in charge of children. Lets hope and pray they don’t have their own…
