Quantico’s Marine Mosque?
Posted by Raven on June 13th, 2006
Last week the news came out that a mosque has been built at the Marine base at Quantico. I wrote a little about it here and got some interesting comments.
Now there is more to this. I knew my gut reaction to this wasn’t good, for a reason.
Last week, military brass — along with representatives from the terror-tied Council on American-Islamic Relations — dedicated the first Muslim prayer center for the Marines as a symbol of the military’s “religious tolerance” and “respect” for the faith the enemy uses to attack us. Already, plans are in the works to build by 2009 a bigger mosque at the Marine base in Quantico so Muslim service members can have a “proper place” to worship, and one that “honors their religious heritage,” officials say, not realizing that the mosque can also be used by the enemy to build a Fifth Column inside the Marines.
Hmm but it’s not OK to have crosses at other military bases? Islamic symbols are acceptable? This is a double standard.
The idea for the center came from Navy Lt. Abuhena Mohammed Saifulislam, a young, smooth-talking Muslim chaplain, who wanted a permanent place of worship — and “education” — for the growing number of soldiers who are interested in — and converting to — Islam.
Education? You mean indoctrination, right? That’s what this is about. The Islamafreakoids have wanted to infiltrate our military for a long time now and they are doing so without a question from the higher ups.
Quantico has only 24 Muslims on base, so the mosque — the first of its kind in the 230-year history of the Corps — will also serve to introduce and draw other Marines to the faith. Large posters explaining how “Muslims love and respect Jesus” (but only as a minor prophet and not the son of God, which they view as blasphemous to Allah) line the inside of the white building. This is one way imam Saifulislam — known on base simply as “Saif” — bridges the faiths to reach out to Christian soldiers. Blacks are particularly susceptible to his pitch.
Young people are susceptible to the pitches of these terrorist-talent-scouts. Why would Islam need to reach out to anyone? Because it’s percieved as the Religion of Hate and Death. It’s an accurate perception.
Apparently, whatever Saifulislam wants, he gets — even at the terrorist prison camp at Gitmo, where he was first assigned after 9-11. There, he recommended that al-Qaida detainees be served halal meals — including traditional dates and lamb — prepared according to Islamic dietary law. The Gitmo menu now boasts 113 Muslim-appropriate meals for the benefit of finicky terrorist tummies.
We remember this. The prisoners whined about their diet. Now they are starving themselves to death (but we are force feeding them of course). They also whined about not having their little black magic potion books to pray with.
So who is this Muslim hero spoiled brat?
It turns out Saifulislam also ministered to Marine Cpl. Wassef Ali Hassoun, a fellow Muslim charged with desertion, just before he went AWOL again last year. Hassoun deserted his post in Iraq where he served as an Arabic translator. After he was captured, and after he met with the Quantico imam, he deserted again.
Saifulislam is clean-cut with a Colgate smile. The Pentagon gives him great latitude because he claims to be moderate.
That makes me feel safe and at ease with all this. He sounds like a good guy- who doesn’t encourage the prisoners to dissent or anything like it.
However, Saifulislam studied Islam at a hardline Wahhabi school in Virginia that was raided by federal authorities after 9-11. And one of his mentors is Taha Jaber Al-Alwani, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Sami al-Arian terror case. Federal court records allege he gave at least $50,000 in jihad money “to support suicide bombings” in Israel.
Oh just dandy. While he isn’t directly attached to this, we all know he has something to do with this. With mentors like this Al-Alwani, he doesn’t need any friends. With people like this in our military, we need all the friends we can get.
Some have spoken out about Mr. SaifulISLAM:
The timing of the dedication ceremony is ironic by half. As the deputy secretary of defense and Marine commandant respectfully removed their shoes to enter the mosque and intoned pleasant PC platitudes about being one big happy “family” with Muslims…
[...]
Several military officers chose to sit out the Quantico ceremony than hear deputy Defense Secretary Gordon England mouth “salaams” to the Muslims in attendance. They think the mosque is misplaced, and don’t trust its imam.“I have great concern about this young Muslim chaplain,” said Lt. Comm. Gary P. Stewart, also a Navy chaplain. “I don’t trust him.”
Is there more to this? Are these officers on to something their leaders are blind to? Perhaps. Time will show and tell. I like to think the Pentagon has a method behind this madness but I have a feeling that’s not the case. Being PC in these times is not a good thing. We need to be on guard and on watch for these very situations. I realize that FPM isn’t always the most reliable source with what it prints, but I’m going with this story for now. We should be concerned.
UPDATE: WildThing is concerned:
I got sick at my stomach reading this article. This is what happens when politically correct politicians get involved with trying not to offend the enemy instead of killing them. I am sure that most Marines are pissed as hell about this especially after returning from Iraq where they were fighting against the very people that we are now trying to coddle. This is just unbelievable. Zarqawi didn’t create Islam, Islam created him. It’s one thing to give them space to worship it’s another to build a new Mosque.
Islam creates terrorists. Plain and simple.

Raven,
The article you referenced was written by Paul Sperry, who follows developments in Islamification in the D.C. area. I have his book “Infiltration” and highly recommend it. Included therein is information on Grover Norquist.
With only 24 Muslims at Quantico, how can the building of this mosque be justified? Besides, there is a mosque quite nearby, in Springfield.

I am more than concerned, I’m horrified. Reading this, I can feel my optimism and my hope for the future of this Country draining away.

Speaking of Marines, come see an analysis of the situation in Iraq from a group of retired Flag Officers. You will be amazed!

Rush Limbaugh commented on this mosque in his third hour on August 17th “06. Sit back and watch the heat rise on this now. It may be too late for Quantico but public sentiment may end the further building of these refuges for our enemies

as the wife of a retired millitary man, I am baffled as to why these people couldn’t have worshiped in the same chapel the rest of us did..taking turns on the day of worship…I do not trust ANY, who need special treatment..in the millitary we’re all the same.
