GOP House Schedules More Immigration Hearings

GOP members of the House have scheduled more town hall meetings to get opinions from people, like ME, about illegal immigration.
The Senate is threatened by this action, especially the Democraps.
WASHINGTON (AP) – House Republican leaders are scheduling a new round of immigration hearings, saying three already held have strengthened their case for enforcement-heavy legislation.
Majority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio, said Wednesday the hearings have made clear that a Senate bill that opens an avenue toward citizenship for millions of illegal immigrants would undermine border security.
I’m sorry the Senate bill is so flawed and goes against what so many people want. The elites who sit in their cushy padded chairs in their fancy offices in DC need to get off their asses and come ask average people how we feel. Instead of telling us lies and halftruths. We’re not DUMB. Thankfully the House recognises this.
He contended that members of both parties are moving toward the House position that the nation’s estimated 12 million illegal immigrants should be offered no guarantees against being deported.
“The hearings have been an absolute success and they’ve put us in a stronger position to pass a responsible that secures our border and strictly enforces our immigration law,” Boehner said.
Last week’s House hearings were in Laredo, Texas, San Diego and Washington. Senators held a hearing last week in Philadelphia and one on Monday in Miami; witnesses generally supported the position held by the Senate and President Bush that many illegal immigrants should be allowed to stay in the U.S.
The House position is more in tune to what Americans want, plain and simple. The Senate bill wants to grant amnesty to the parasites. It allows business to employ them without fines and this will encourage the loss of more jobs that Americans WILL do.
The Senate bill focuses on the economic non issues and ignores the borders. Screw that. It’s a self serving bill that will forever allow illegal immigration to continue- by making it legal! And it will give the shady businesses an endless supply of cheap labor.
At a hearing Wednesday, Commerce Secretary Carlos Gutierrez told the Senate Judiciary Committee that Bush wants a comprehensive bill. He said an approach of only enforcement does not encourage immigrants to learn English, assimilate or be part of society.
“The more this issue becomes one of enforcement only, we’re driving them farther and father underground. What we want for our national security is to drive them above the shadows so we know who they are,” said Gutierrez, who left his native Cuba in 1960 as a political refugee.
Bullshit. They really think we’re stupid. Dry up the jobs, take away the attractions to settle in- the parasites will leave. No need to deport anyone. We have too many incentives for them to resist. Hell, I would come across a border illegally to get all the benefits that America offers in it’s current state. I don’t even have to work to get paid…my healthcare is free, my kids education is free or drastically reduced…
During last week’s congressional recess, some lawmakers suggested a compromise could be forming around “triggers” that would allow a phasing in of guest worker or legalization measures after enforcement benchmarks are met.
NO.
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa., said such “delays” already are in the Senate bill. A guest worker program for illegal immigrants could begin only after money has been appropriated for a system that employers could use to verify their workers are legal, he said.
NO.
It’s amnesty.
Seven new House hearings are scheduled, all but one in Washington. The House International Relations Committee will hold a hearing July 27 at a location to be determined on whether the Senate bill undermines diplomatic efforts to curb illegal immigration.
The other six hearings are scheduled from July 18 to July 27.
Where, I want to know. Maybe there will be a hearing in my area. And YES, the Senate bill does undermine all efforts to curb illegal immigration. How? It allows illegals to continue to break OUR laws.
