I have ordered a couple copies of this movie. Obession: Radical Islam’s War Against The West

This is about radical Islam and the threat we face. We’re going to host a showing here in a couple weeks- inviting several folks over to watch this with us. The idea is to create an awareness of the threat that we aren’t getting from the MSM, Muslim advocacy groups and the left.

From the movie’s web site:

Almost 70 years ago, Europe found itself at war with one of the most sinister figures in modern history: Adolf Hitler. When the last bullet of World War II was fired, over 50 million people were dead, and countless countries were both physically and economically devastated. Hitler’s bloody struggle sought to forge the world anew, in the crucible of Nazi values. How could such a disaster occur? How could the West have overlooked the evil staring it in the face, for so long, before standing forcefully against it?

Today, we find ourselves confronted by a new enemy, also engaged in a violent struggle to transform our world. As we sleep in the comfort of our homes, a new evil rises against us. A new menace is threatening, with all the means at its disposal, to bow Western Civilization under the yoke of its values. That enemy is Radical Islam.

Using images from Arab TV, rarely seen in the West, Obsession reveals an ‘insider’s view’ of the hatred the Radicals are teaching, their incitement of global jihad, and their goal of world domination. With the help of experts, including first-hand accounts from a former PLO terrorist, a Nazi youth commander, and the daughter of a martyred guerilla leader, the film shows, clearly, that the threat is real.

A peaceful religion is being hijacked by a dangerous foe, who seeks to destroy the shared values we stand for. The world should be very concerned.

Get your copy…host a showing- invite people over and make a night of it. It’s about educating those who don’t understand; it’s about activism and something EACH of us can do.

Okay. . . here’s the problem. I just don’t feel threatened. Statistically you are 10,000 times more likely to be killed in a car accident than by a terrorist. And this isn’t going to change any time soon. I think there are more pressing problems to address.

  2. Raven Says:

TJ, you don’t feel threatened and that’s your stand.
We don’t know how many cells are around in the USA; many of us live in a dream world I think…

I do feel threatened. So I will do whatever I need to feel safe; I will try to educate friends and neighbors.
More pressing problems? Maybe. I can’t imagine anything more pressing than the state of this country.

  3. TJ Says:

Look, even if there were a thousand terrorist cells, with 50,000 Mujahadeen warriors inside the USA, and they all launched a massive, well coordinated attack . . . Yeah, it would certainly make the news, but the fact is they would LOSE. They couldn’t even conquor Rhode Island, never mind the entire US. Do you really think America is so weak that we would crumble that easily?

  4. Raven Says:

Look punk, it takes one nuclear weapon to take out an entire city; imagine if they had several. And with liberals and democrats around, pandering to groups like CAIR and the UN- YES, I do think this country would crumble. I’m not going to go back and forth with you about this- JUST get the movie and have an open mind. It can’t hurt and you might learn something.

  5. Reason Says:

Most of you reading this blog, including myself, do not enough information about Islam and the Middle East to understand what is going on. There is very little info that comes from the public school system regarding thier culture. We are left with getting all our info from the bombings we see on the news. If people were more informed, I think we would be able to deal with the problems over there better.

  6. Always On Watch Says:

    Reason,
Um, no. I’ve been researching this topic since 9/12/01. And my knowledge of Islam goes back to my college days–I was a foreign-language major. Try reading some medieval Spanish literature in the original Spanish, and you’ll find out a bit about Muslim rule in Spain. Not pretty!

And my elementary and high-school education was private, not public.

    Assumptions are dangerous, Reason.

  7. Raven Says:

Reason you obviously haven’t been through any of the archives here. Had you done this, you would know that I know a lot more about Islam than you do. Much of this info I learned from people who USED to call themselves Muslims; much of my info comes from respected experts in the work of research. I don’t rely on MSM for any factual information.

  8. TJ Says:

I don’t want to go back and forth. couple of points.

Always on Watch: Muslim rule in medieval spain was less pretty than Christian Rule in the rest of Medievel Europe? Really? And who cares.

Raven: I’m more “metal-head” than “punk” and the terrorists DON’T have nuclear weapons (oh, but imagine if they DID! and imagine if they had sharks with laser-beams on their forheads? Huh? Just THINK about it). AND whatever you may think of the Liberals in this country, the one thing they do very well is Crumble — and give way to the Right wing.

  9. Kiril The Mad Macedonian Says:

Raven: Thanks, 1st of all, for bringing this to people’s attention.

Your back & forth, in the comments, is a smaller scale version of a debate I’ve just had over a few days last week, with another appeaser/anti-war type on my blog & that persons blog.

I am not as knowledgeable as you about Islam, not by a longshot, and did my best to express my opinions on the subject to defend my stance ( If I’d thought of it, and had the time I would have really dug around your place and those of others I link to, to add more to what I wrote..

I have blogs of knowledgeable people, and websites, like you in my blogrolls for the simple reason that I can learn from them, and hope that the few folks that come to my place can learn from them as well.

It is very interesting, and instructive, that the writer of this new supposedly pro Lebanon Blog has yet to reply to my latest repost, and has not even blogged since the 26th.

You would think that person would be blogging up a veritable storm for his cause, but noooo. ;-D
