Women who have had abortions, and are proud of it, will be named in this months issue of Ms. Magazine.
New York - At a pivotal time in the abortion debate, Ms. magazine is releasing its fall issue next week with a cover story titled “We Had Abortions,” accompanied by the names of thousands of women nationwide who signed a petition making that declaration.
What purpose did signing this petition have? I don’t get that out of reading this article. Oh well.
There is another side to the story that we won’t read in Ms. Magazine though:
Beverly Hills, CA (LifeNews.com) — In an election-year effort to rally abortion advocates, Ms. Magazine plans to include the names of women who have had abortions and are happy about the decision in its next issue. However, Ms. is coming under fire from women who tried to tell the magazine’s editors they regret their abortions.
Georgette Forney, the head of a national group for women who wish they could undo their abortion decision, says she knows of many women who submitted petitions to Ms. saying their abortion decision was something that plagued them the rest of their lives.
Well of course the pro-choicers don’t want anyone to hear the other side. It might cause women to take second thought about having an abortion…
In case you didn’t know:
Ms. magazine is also coming under fire for using the abortion petition as a fund-raising tool.
The magazine is owned and operated by the Feminist Majority Foundation, a pro-abortion group, and women who sign the online petition are urged to make a donation to the organization.
My own harsh thoughts about abortion and American society:
Abortion is used as a back up for failed birth control; or lack of use of birth control. Abortion is a form of birth control.
American women have had 47 million abortions since 1973. 47 MILLION. That is more death than all the wars combined.
I know many women who have had them. They feel bad for a few weeks…it comes back to haunt them now and again but for the
most part- most don’t regret having it done. They cannot get past how “BAD” their lives would have been had they had that baby…I believe that society has made girls and women feel that having a baby, unplanned, is the worst thing that can happen. Too many of us think that a child will hold us back; will ruin our prospects for living a good life…and too many of us (women in general) think abortion is a viable option.
I do not believe this. I have also known many girls and women who chose life and are better people for it. Yes- they had hardship. Some gave their babies up for adoption. Some were bad mothers. But most overcame the “obstacle” of having an unplanned child and turned out FINE. They met their life goals. They finished their education. They got high paying jobs with all the prestige and perks. It just took a little longer. They had to make some sacrifices…something not too many of us think we should have to do. We are spolied rotten, I say. All the stories about those backstreet abortions are hyped up at best. So it’s not an excuse to say legal abortion is better. It comes down to excepting responsibility for our actions. We have become a society that does’t always like doing that.
I believe having an abortion is the ultimate form of NOT taking responsibilty. For both men and women who have a choice in these matters. We all have a choice. Use birth control- 2 methods preferably. Or keep our legs shut. It’s that simple.

Ms Magazine recenlty announced its “We Had Abortions” program to counter the South Dakota law which bans child killing. Updates: La Shawn Barber’s Corner: In a most vacuous display of liberation, a gaggle of women who had their unborn babies…
