Ahh THE place to be when solitude is needed:

Did you take these photos? They are breath-taking!
Back in August of 1985, I briefly visited the White Mountains. That was one hot summer!

Yes Ma’am I did. I don’t think they’re THAT good though. And it’s not me..lol..it’s my camera.
It’s gorgeous up there right now. The lowlands are all about color and foliage. The mountains start off with a lot of cold fog and rain but higher up there is SNOW. Quiet, soft cold snow. The temp was 50 degrees in the pond/waterfall areas; up at Layfayette they were 20 degrees.
All the hiking trails have been closed now. Already someone has died up there, and there have been a couple rescues of folks getting caught in the storms.
