White Mountains in Autumn

Posted by Raven on October 11th, 2006

Ahh THE place to be when solitude is needed:

Trek a little further into the woods and we find this place:

…and this:

NOTHING is as awesome, though, as the mountains when they first see snow.

    Raven,
Did you take these photos? They are breath-taking!

Back in August of 1985, I briefly visited the White Mountains. That was one hot summer!

  2. Raven Says:

    Yes Ma’am I did. I don’t think they’re THAT good though. And it’s not me..lol..it’s my camera.

It’s gorgeous up there right now. The lowlands are all about color and foliage. The mountains start off with a lot of cold fog and rain but higher up there is SNOW. Quiet, soft cold snow. The temp was 50 degrees in the pond/waterfall areas; up at Layfayette they were 20 degrees.

All the hiking trails have been closed now. Already someone has died up there, and there have been a couple rescues of folks getting caught in the storms.

Now if you could step infront of the camera…..nekkid…
    LOL
    Very nice Raven.

  4. Raven Says:

But…but…Michael…you have a picture of me, nekkid.
YOU posted it for the whole world to see, remember??
