Goodbye Officer Michael Briggs
Posted by Raven on October 21st, 2006

All of New Hampshire joins with it.
One of the brave young men and women who put their lives on the line for their fellow citizens each day and night has paid the ultimate price.
Michael Briggs’ fellow police officers from the city, state and around the nation will honor their comrade at the city’s baseball park by the Merrimack River this morning. Their bond is strong and special and their support will be of comfort to Officer Briggs’ widow, two sons, and other family members.
The bond between police and citizens must also be strong and no more so than now. Respect and support for those who protect and serve is no longer a given in our society and that is one factor in why their job has become tougher and ever more dangerous.

Manchester mourns for Michael Briggs today. May his enduring legacy be our commitment to making this a safer city.

Thank you Dennis. We are all very sad today- have been all week. Michael Briggs was a well loved policeman, a father, a husband, a hero, a Marine. He is missed.
