Who’s saying what on Election Day

Election day blogging:

  • Yes, I shall indeed be voting today, despite having no good reason to vote. And for those who are interested, there will be plenty of better and more comprehensive coverage of the election today than the Ogre can provide (because some of us have to work for a living).

Instead, today, I’d like to pre-empt all regular programming for this essay about freedom. Other than the afternoon’s Renaissance Festival review post, there will be no other posts here today. Instead, feel free to read and digest this single short post about freedom.

Freedom, to many people, is a relative concept. Personally, I like freedom. I like freedom a lot. I am willing to, and have, put my life on the line just for this strange concept of freedom. But true freedom is gone from this world, and it is highly unlikely to ever return.

  • OK, I am tired of hearing everyone saying we are going to lose in this election.

Here is what I think will happen:

    1. The GOP will keep the House
    2. The GOP will keep the Senate
    3. It will take several days to tally the votes
    4. The Democrats will contest every vote they did not win based on someones exit polls.

  • I’m sure we’ve all heard or read of Republicans saying that they plan to sit out going to the polls the day after tomorrow, because those representing us in Congress have been such a disappointment to us in the last few years, and we need to teach them a lesson, show that our support is not a “given”, that they need to do what we elected them to do and represent our conservative ideals, etc, etc, and, once more, etc.

That’s all well and good, except… There’s too much at stake here to allow a Democrat majority in either the House or the Senate at this point in time.

  • Not much to cheer about, I’m afraid. The only piece of good news I can give is that I think Democrats are nippin’ at the Kool Aid if they think that there’s some kind of “wave” that will bring them 30 or 40 seats. If there was such a wave it has dissipated as a result of both the Kerry joke and reluctant Republicans finally deciding over the last week to hold their noses, go the the polls, and vote for the GOP.

  • GM wants everyone to tune into Wide Awakes Radio for continuing coverage of all today’s elections
  • Chicago Jack wants us to view this YouTube of the non Marine Murtha scumbagahag.
  • A good youtube video giving us the military perspective on Jihad Jack and his out of the mainstream, even borderline treasonous comments and stances he has taken against the military particularly of late in the name of looking out for them. Give it a look for sure, as time’s running out on Jack it now looks to more and more of us.

I voted this morning. Living in Mass often means that it’s a futile gesture, but not voting would be worse.

Move to NH!! Get out of the liberal hell of the country!! Live free or die.

      LOL
