Courage vs. Cowards
Posted by Raven on December 14th, 2006
Several weeks ago some friends and I went to Virginia and Washington DC- to go to the National Museum of the Marine Corps and other places. The Museum had opened two weeks prior to our visit…anyone who doesn’t already hold the Marines in awe will once they go here…the Museum has a store and I bought several things…tee shirts, keychains, ice buckets and glasses and the like.
And some ornaments:

And books. I love to read and love reading about military stuff. Especially US History and Marine Corps stuff…this book-

left a huge impression upon me. I scanned much of it while in DC, reading about Corporal Jason L. Dunham’s actions- and the ultimate sacrifice he made. I decided to go back to the Museum store and bought two more copies of the book. When I got home I typed letters to the Cowards John Kerry and John Murtha-and mailed the books to their offices…in my letter I asked the two esteemed gentlemen to read what a real hero is all about…and to consider their own phoney medal seeking antics for comparison.
Then I reminded them both they really need to sign their 180’s- because heroes don’t have anything to hide right? Cpl. Dunham received the Medal of Honor, posthumously, and Mr. Kerry and Mr. Murtha should know what valor and honor and courage really are. They have NO CLUE.

Courage and Cowardice are situation specific. There are men who’ve left no doubt about their bravery in combat who cannot speak in public, ask a young woman for a date, or fight another man here at home.
Take care how you use those terms.

WOMD in this post it’s about military experiences.
Kerry and Murtha both are fondled for their courage and UNcowardly behaviors in Vietnam…yet evidence shows they both were cowards.
There’s a difference between being a coward and being shy.
And there is a difference between fighting for your life and fighting a bum on the street.

I live less than 15 minutes from the National Museum of the Marine Corps and haven’t made it over yet, it is on my list though!
… work schedule is very unforgiving these days.

TJ!!! I wished I had remembered that…when I was down there. Then again I didn’t have time to visit anyone- I had thought about going to see RCat…but didn’t want to commit a time and place.
