Goode has no reason to be concerned about Ellison

Congressman Virgil Goode (R-VA) is speaking to the concerns of many Americans. Yet the media is hyping these concerns into something else. The MSM is proving yet again it is the mouthpiece for the Democrats- the party of appeasement and ignorance.
Congressman Virgil Goode (R-VA) is being censured by almost everyone for his remarks about incoming Congressman Keith Ellison (D-MN) and Muslim immigration. “I fear that in the next century we will have many more Muslims in the United States,” Goode wrote in a letter to a constituent, “if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped.” He also noted Ellison’s intention to be sworn in on the Qur’an, declaring that “if American citizens don’t wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran.”
Many of the Koran’s “verses” are in direct conflict with the very values so many liberal Americans hold near and dear. To blindly allow a Representative to take an oath with a hand on this book of death is the same as placing a sword in that hand.
All these criticisms share a common core assumption: that Goode has no reason to be concerned about Ellison, the Qur’an, or Muslims, and that any suspicion he does have is simply evidence of his bigotry and ignorance. In raising the specter of nativism, the Post was suggesting that America has been down this road before, and has nothing to show for it but shame. Suspicions about previous waves of immigrants amounted to nothing more than xenophobia, there was no Jewish conspiracy or Popish plot to subvert the United States Constitution, and concerns about Muslims and the Qur’an are just as hysterical and unfounded. Ellison, for his part, sounded a defiant note in an address in Dearborn, Michigan. To cries of “Allahu akbar” from a Muslim crowd, he declared: “On January 4, I will go swear an oath to uphold the Constitution of the United States. I’ll place my hand on the Quran.”
Democrats always look for the best in people- and admirable trait indeed. Yet they always find the worse- because they blindly accept pledges and trust from those who have other motives. History shows this. Liberal minded people placed trust in Hitler. They appeased him and offered him carrots in exchange for promises of peace. Currently, liberals refuse to see through the murky sunlight- the possibility that radical Islamists are invading our institutions (military, law enforcement, courts, now Congress).
Ellison said these words at a convention hosted by the Muslim American Society and the Islamic Circle of North America. According to a 2004 Chicago Tribune article, “A rare look at secretive Brotherhood in America,” the Muslim American Society was founded in 1993 as the United States arm of the Muslim Brotherhood, the Egyptian based terror group that has spawned both Hamas and Al-Qaeda. MAS members now maintain that the group has no ties to the Brotherhood, but there are indications that many in the group want to see the U.S. Constitution replaced by Islamic law. “We may all feel emotionally attached to the goal of an Islamic state” in America, said a speaker at a 2002 MAS conference, but “we mustn’t cross hurdles we can’t jump yet.” The Muslim American Society’s chapter for Ellison’s home state of Minnesota hosts a website that offers in an “Online Library” texts by the jihad theorists Syed Abul Ala Maududi and Sayyid Qutb. Qutb in his jihad manifesto Milestones asserts that “Islam is the way of life ordained by God for all mankind, and this way establishes the Lordship of God alone — that is, the sovereignty of God – and orders practical life in all its daily details. Jihaad in Islam is simply a name for striving to make this system of life dominant in the world.”
For all the cries about religion, why hasn’t the MSM reported anything about this? The media is known to investigate and leak information with no regard for American security…if they looked into these allegations they might learn some things of value. Or not. To totally disregard this is wrong however. And perhaps very dangerous.
Is it reasonable to ask Ellison if he shares such views? When he speaks at a conference sponsored by such organizations, is it simply bigotry to ask him if he holds views they are on record as having? When Muslim leaders around the globe have spoken about the necessity to impose Islamic law upon the world, is it sheer nativism to ask Ellison and American Muslims if they hold the same views?
It’s not unreasonable. But it’s also not politically correct. This will be the one thing that destroys us- being more concerned about offending some than defending the rest of us.

Sadly as the law exists today Ellison has every right to be sworn in on the Koran instead of the Bible.
IMO, the only way we will be able to deal with the threat Islam poses to the rest of us is to amend the Constitution to specifically exclude Islam and its followers from the protection of the First Amendment.
There should also be a minimum 20-year moratorium on any Muslims coming into the USA to live or study; Muslims should not be allowed to become US Citizens.
I think the “mainstream media” hasn’t really covered the malignant side of Islam here in the United States simply because THEY are afraid of attacks against their facilities.
A case in point:
Back when Salaman Rushdie’s “Satanic Verses” was published and resulted in a religious decree (fatwa) calling for his death,
after a bookstore was bombed, many corporate-owned bookstores withdrew it from display.
It appears not much of an effort was made by the GHW Bush Administration to root out and punish those involved.
Another aspect of this problem is fear of boycotts; if an organ of the MSM says something unkind about Islam, they will be hearing about it from their advertisers!
Sadly the quote ascribed to V.I. Lenin comes to mind, the one where he asserted that the capitalists would sell their enemies the rope used to hang them.
In the current case the MSM only has “positive” coverage about Islam itself, always blaming “extremists” or “radicals” for the terroristic violence and intimidation which is part and parcel of Islamic culture.
That is positive propaganda = virtual rope (or swords).
I myself got wise to the MSN over 20 years ago when I discovered a whole new world of information available via computer BBSes
Sadly I think less than 10% of the American people have gotten the MSM agenda.

I could show you bible verses that are just as anti-american, unless you believe idolators should be stoned.

Islam goes against liberty and justice for all. Have you ever read the Koran? How can you even compare it to the Bible? And, remember many of us don’t follow the Bible and never have.
Just count the numbers of attacks the world has seen in past thirty years Nick…and tell me what they have in common…who did them…where they were from…what their religion is…figure it out on your own.

So by your logic, we should judge all Christians by the Inquisitions and the Crusades. The religion has been hijacked by crazies. It happened to Christianity before, too.

Raven, what about all the muslims in America that aren’t terrorists? I live in a city with a fairly diverse muslim population. I saw muslims react with horror when we saw the planes crash into the buildings. I’ve heard them condemn OBL personally. Hell, I’ve debated theology with them. Talk to a muslim yourself. Make friends with them. See if they’re all the monsters you think they are.

Nick tell your Muslime friends to speak out loud to their co horts of their religion…speak out against the terrorism with no excuses given…when I start to read that and hear it more, I might, I MIGHT give more credit to them. Until then, until they stop with the endless whining and excuses, I will not respect them. I will fight them. I will exclude them from my life.

Do you really think Osama has “power and prestige”? He was kicked out of at least 4 different countries for his extremist beliefs. And Hamas is hardly a fitting representative. Hows this: I’ll give you the names of some muslim reformers, so you can look them up and read for yourself about muslims that aren’t Osama bin Laden. Or would you rather remain ignorant and close minded?

The hurried flight of the Hegira had led the Muslims to a fertile oasis, where they were at last safe from their many enemies in Mecca. Pausing, each thanked Allah the moon-god for their good fortune.
Assembling at a long table, they enjoyed rare delicacies brought by bare-breasted sirens whose faces were veiled. During the feast Muhammad sternly forbade his disciples to partake of pig flesh, while fondling the youthful breasts of a Nubian harlot named Sheba.
Obeying the Prophet, the pilgrims partook of the succulent flesh of jackals and vultures, washing their food down with strong wine.
“I never dreamed I’d have to eat the loins of a jackal, let alone the bitter entrails of a cursed vulture,” observed a hungry pilgrim named Ahmed to a fellow Muslim, choking on the unpalatable morsels.
“Neither did I, but the Holy Prophet has ordered it,” grumbled another starving follower, almost heaving as he consumed greasy vulture flesh.

An uncaring Muhammad, famished, greedily wolfed down roasted jackal in enjoyment, quaffing from an earthenware wine carafe on occasion, while choosing which of the sirens that would soon endure his favours.
The meal finished in the late afternoon, a drunken, lustful Muhammad initiated a sex orgy with the sirens, the debauched Holy Prophet, Allah speaking through him, declaring all earlier betrothals or marriages of the women he knew null and void. The Muslims celebrated their good fortune, again thanking Allah for the bounty they had been blessed to receive.
Later, as Muhammad sat half-naked under a palm tree, masturbating to the thought of molesting little girls, Ahmed chanced by and remarked, “Oh great prophet, why does Allah say that we cannot dine on delicious porcine flesh?”
“Why?” asked Muhammad, closing his filthy, tattered, moth- eaten robe, “Because Allah’s younger retarded cyclops brother is a pig, and Allah doesn’t want us killing his holy kinfolk.”
“Allah is a pig?” asked Ahmed, staring at Muhammad.

“That’s ridiculous, why in hell do we worship pigs?” asked Ahmed, thinking his flight from Mecca may have been the result of heeding the words of a false prophet, possessed of a capricious desert demon who delighted in seeing them consume the flesh of vermin. “Because they’re better than we are,” answered a smiling Muhammad, now fantasising about raping little boys, “Look at me, I’m little more than a lecherous child molester, thief and murderer!”
“True, but pigs can’t even talk!” exclaimed Ahmed, digging a heel into the sand.
“Allah can, he speaks to me in my dreams,” retorted the wildly hallucinating Muhammad, barely able to focus on Ahmed, seeing him in double vision.
“You’re a madman,” declared a disgusted Ahmed, “I’m heading back to join the infidels in Mecca!”
“Who cares?” retorted Muhammad, slurring his words and breaking into riotous laughter.
Prophet Muhammad, opening his robe and again reaching for his flaccid sex organ, was too occupied with masturbating his building erection to reply further, while Ahmed disappeared behind a sand dune.
“What a stupid, perverted, licentious bastard,” spat Ahmed, walking off, “Muhammad is crazier than a shithouse rat!”
