Tony Snow: Liver Cancer
Posted by Kim on March 27th, 2007
This is not good news.
WASHINGTON — White House Press Secretary Tony Snow will undergo chemotherapy treatment after doctors found a cancerous growth in his lower abdomen, the White House announced Tuesday.
The cancer, originally in his colon, has spread to his liver, said White House spokeswoman Dana Perino. Snow spoke to President Bush Tuesday morning, who told Snow he and first lady Laura Bush are praying for him.
Please pray for Tony Snow and his family. They will need it.
***UPDATE***From Raven–
WHY prayers are needed. A doctors outlook:
In the case of colon cancer which has spread to the liver, the outlook is not good. On average, survival is in the range of six months. There are exceptional circumstances, for instance when it appears than only one tumor nodule is growing in the liver, in which case removing it and giving chemotherapy may prolong life. Unfortunately that’s rare: in most cases when it’s discovered, it’s widespread.
Read the rest of this- it’s not all discouraging.
And, GM shares with readers an email Tony Snow sent him a little over a year ago, when GM faced a DX of lung cancer.
Fight On Tony.

Amen Duncan, and Thanks Raven. It does appear that they may have found this nodule early and it looks like a single nodule. Prayers for him and his family are needed for sure.
