As The Clintons’ Turn
Posted by Raven on May 27th, 2007
Heh.
Bill Clinton wanted to divorce his wife in 1989 for another woman with whom he had fallen in love but Hillary Clinton forbade it, according to one of two new highly unflattering books about the former First Lady. The volumes confronted her 2008 presidential campaign yesterday with its primal fear: fresh allegations about her deeply complicated marriage.
Poor Bill. Had to give up the woman he loved for the woman who owned him.
Deeply complicated marriage? No. Hardly.
It’s simple. In the Clinton marriage there is no love and there never was. This relationship was all about convenience and politics. It was about using the successes of one to climb up over the other. The dynamic duo are not alone in this form of marriage. But, they do represent what is SO wrong with American culture today. Bill is a numb and dumb hick who crossed some lucky stars…and Hillary is a ruthless and cold hearted feminist bitch who holds a grudge that will forever haunt her. This woman wants to be the next President of the US. I have ordered both the books mentioned in this article, and I have no doubt Hillary will destroy the US if she is elected, which I don’t think will happen.

Many people complain about the ease with which couples are granted a divorce and suggest that the solution to the problem is to make it more difficult. As usual, I disagree.
I find the entire institution of marriage to be something of a bad joke. At this time, I could fly out to Las Vegas, get really drunk, and go to a drive through chapel to marry a complete stranger. This marriage would be accepted in all fifty states. Britney Spears and Carmen Electra are two good examples of why this situation makes a mockery of the institution of marriage.
Here’s my solution:
When a couple applies for a marriage license, they should be informed that there is a one year waiting period. This would eliminate shotgun marriages in all their forms. Getting pregnant, or pretending to get pregnant, or getting someone pregnant are three of the worst reasons to get married. Good reason to pay child support. Bad reason to get married.
In addition to the waiting period, I would require a thorough background check on both parties with the results presented privately to each individual. This would include each party’s employment, educational, criminal, medical, and credit histories.
If both parties are serious about spending their lives together, they should not be too surprised by the results of such a background check or intimidated by the requirement. They will have already revealed to each other what they need to know in order to maintain an open and honest relationship conducive to the rearing of children. If they’re afraid of what a background check may reveal, then they’re not being honest with each other and should not get married.
In all honesty, many women are so caught up in the pomp and ceremony of marriage that they ignore some pretty serious problems with their future spouses. Many others are simply so afraid of their boyfriends that they don’t dare try to get out of the relationship. And as everyone knows, many men do their thinking with the wrong head.
What do you think?

You really want to know what I think??
ok.
DO away with marriage. Why? Because it’s never a guarantee. People grow. They change. They mature in so many ways- thinking, ideals, goals, wants, needs…and resentment happens, and trust evades as this process happens. I find it pretty hard to imagine staying in love with the same person for 60 plus years to be honest. I can see becoming complacent; I see becoming emotionally dependent upon the other half; but love? No.
Marriage requires love and commitment, not background checks and all that silliness. Any relationship where emotions are present require a level of maturity that most people don’t have.
Marriage sucks and it’s just a piece of paper. Living together, PART of the time, IS much more preferable for me. This way, I am in control of my own destiny. No one to own me and tell me what I can and cannot do…come and go as I please…

As for women being caught up with the ceremonial shit, you’re right. The perfect dress is more important than anything else…the ring better cost a fortune and the event better cost more.
I’ll never marry again and I don’t even remember my “wedding”- a bad joke one evening when I was totally drunk and a pre-arranged Justice of the Peace ceremony happened…I am told I even passed out before the two minute speech was over. I was never asked if I would marry; I was never given a ring. It just happened and I cried for weeks after. I should have divorced immediately…but alas I did not and lived for 20 yrs quite miserably. My fault. Never again though.

These two new books about Hillary may do her some damage. She’s trying very hard to ignore the books’ very existence.

If the Dems are dumb enough to nominate either Hillary or Obama, they will most certainly be blown away in the general election. I believe that either Edwards or Gore will end up running against the Republican nominee.

I love honest answers. They help to confirm my opinion that most of our social institutions should be scrapped.

I would wager that Hillary’s or the “numb and dumb” Bill’s IQ’s are considerably higher than George’s.
And as a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee, I would imagine that Hillary could speak about the armed services with far more knowledge than George. (George can barely form his own thoughts into intelligent comments without a script anyway). She was obviously far ahead of the rest of the politicians in trying to reform health care years ago, but that was put down by the republicans who never did touch the subject in their do-nothing reign of 6 years– a time when they could have gotten almost anything accomplished, having had control of the Congress and White House. Now health insurance is out of reach of far too many people. Thank you, Republican “leadership”.

THANK GOD!!
The last thing this country needs is socialized medicine, funded by a payroll tax. Let’s call Hillarycare what it would be, socialized medicine.

One thing that amazes me is how according to quite a few Democrats, George was able to “mislead” them about the WMD in Iraq, even though he is also alleged to be incredibly stupid. George has an IQ considerably lower that Hill and Bill, and yet was still able to mislead Hillary, Kerry, etc. Hmmmm.

I don’t know who will be in office next election, but I’m praying like crazy it’s not someone who has approved of what happened to Terri Schiavo, or to precious baby Emilio, where stopping his vitamin therapy and sitting around doing absolutely nothing when they had other options could have hastened his death. As far as medicaid goes, I myself don’t approve of people mooching off the government for any reason, but I do have a son who is on medicaid because he was the victim of malpractice, and as far as I’m concerned, the state will be paying for him for the rest of his life! I am a Republican, but this case is different. I stand for everything they stand for, but I also know when someone needs to step up to the plate and take responsibility for their own actions!!! Have a good one everyone!
