WASHINGTON
— For the second year in a row the Pentagon has insisted that it doesn’t need another engine for its next-generation fighter jet. And again, Senator Edward M. Kennedy and other powerful lawmakers are forcing it to build one anyway.Tucked in the annual defense bill moving through Congress is $480 million to develop a spare engine for the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter even though the Air Force concluded in 2005 that it was redundant — and two independent review boards agreed.
“I get hit a lot.”
Those were the words of tiny 3-year-old Jayla, describing to investigators how the man she called Daddy “bited my lip with his teeth,” whacked her ear with a belt so hard she bled and beat her when she peed her pants, according to a police report.Shocking details of months of horrific injuries emerged yesterday after Jayla’s mother, Jessica Silveira, 26, and her live-in boyfriend, Bryan James, 34, who is accused of biting and mutilating the girl, pleaded not guilty yesterday in New Bedford District Court.
The gut-wrenching case history, laid out in a 14-page New Bedford police report, reveals that doctors, police and DSS workers long suspected Jayla was a victim of abuse, but failed to stop it until she was horribly mutilated.
And this is yet another example of how big government/state sponsored oversight doesn’t WORK. I hope this little girl manages to live a decent life. Dammit all to hell.
We are teaching our children a lie — a lie that robs them of the joys of childhood and their best futures. Why shouldn’t we expect the very best from them? And why are we afraid to teach them the truth? We would never tell our little boys and girls to engage in “safe drug use” or to “smoke responsibly.” We don’t hesitate to put our foot down in other areas of life. So why should it be different when it comes to setting standards for sexual behavior?
Besides, exposing kids to graphic sex-ed is just plain stupid. As the mother of two teenage boys, I’m amazed at the naivetè of those who believe that young men have the ability to listen to detailed discussions of condom usage and sexual activities in one class and then concentrate on such exciting topics as, say, algebra and chemistry in the next.

That’s the Boston skyline in the background…

1st – Women talk. It is their hobby and it is genetically hardwired that they are chatter boxes. sorry, it is a flawed study, just like global warming.
2nd – The Dhimmicrats are just playing politics. I’d like to see them actually, seriously try to change those presidential powers. Ofcourse, when Slick Willy threw out his last minute pardons to the like of Marc Rich, I don’t remember hearing quite this much ruckus. I think it is just a bunch of rhetoric and political posturing. Much ado about nothing…

One other thing. The Joint Strike Fighter could use another engine. Not a big fan of single engine aircraft myself…. sure, it can fly just fine on one… but when it quits… gotta wish you had one more…. ofcourse… anything Ted Kennedy does is suspect.. perhaps he is planning on letting illegals build it??

Duncan: Yes women talk. But so do men – just as much! I know…I’ve been around the block a few times. WE ALL TALK and what sense of pride or shame is it to admit this? Does it really matter? I mean, after all, women have been taking the heat for being the MOUTHS of the world for so long now based on biased and subjective and totally out of tune data and you KNOW the studies were rigged and designed by::: MEN ::: of course! it’s a plot to make us look….feminine.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!

If I could just spell…life would be peachy.
Uh and I didn’t know that about the engine and jet fighter. According to law only Americans can work in those factories where DoD equipment are built…except what happened in New Bedford MA a few mos back- the company that was raided which made those backpacks for troops? All of the employees were illegals.
