Hsu had apparently become sick

Posted by Kim on September 7th, 2007

Little Stormin Norman Hsu has been found.

Norman Hsu, a well known fundraiser for the Democratic party, was wanted on federal charges of unlawful flight to avoid prosecution.

Hsu was arrested around 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital after the FBI found him. Hsu had apparently become sick while riding on an Amtrak train and was rushed to the hsopital after it stopped in Grand Junction. He was headed to Denver, officials said.

Became sick on a train? What? Did he have a hang nail? Why Denver?

Both officers from Grand Junction police and FBI agents from Denver took Hsu into custody.

Hsu had been scheduled to appear in court Wednesday to turn over his passport and ask a judge to cut in half the $2 million bail he posted last week when he turned himself in after spending 15 years on the lam from a felony theft conviction. He had been charged with bilking investors out of more than $1 million in a Ponzi scheme.

Instead, Hsu failed to show up at the bail reduction hearing and a judge issued a new arrest warrant for him.

Can we surmise that Billary went into action here and demanded Norman be found? The bad media coverage might harm her their campaign? Usually the Clinton’s do other things to silence their troublesome partners.

Questions need to be answered now, and Jay has the list:

* How did he meet with so many prominent Democrats (such as Hillary Clinton) while he was a fugitive from justice?

* How did he get out of the country back in 1993?

* How did he get back in?

* Just what was the source of all that money he poured into Democratic coffers?

* What did he expect in return for his investment?

Interestingly:

Once he is returned to state custody, the federal charges will be dismissed, Schadler said.

Figures.

Maybe little Norman will answer the tough questions now.

Considering the sorry state of Amtrak, his sudden health problem isn’t too much of a surprise.

Over at blogsforbush (through which I found andrightlyso), various commenters have speculated that he’d end up like Vince Foster. I thought that he’d be a typical Chinese Clinton donor and flee the U.S. Thankfully, neither of these replays of the 90’s came about.

“Little Stormin’ Norman”? Please. The word “Stormin’” is reserved for General Schwartzkopf.

  2. Duggan Flanakin Says:

    Other questions might include:
1 – What was his relationship with Chinese gangs in the 1980’s and up until he fled the country in 1992?
2 – What is his ONGOING relationship with Chinese gangs (and/or the Chinese government) since 1992?
3 – Were his businesses in fact merely money laundering operations for Chinese gangs and/or the Chinese government?
4 – Under whose protection had Hsu been operating in public for the past several years, given that he was a well known fugitive from justice and that he in fact returned to California on many occasions for public fundraising events?
5 – Where was Hsu headed on the Amtrak at the time he fell ill (and was he perhaps poisoned in the same way that our Russian friend was poisoned, with radiation poisoning???)? That is, was Hsu running from the law, his employers, or both?
6 – Did members of the Paw family help Hsu in his flight to avoid prosecution, and if so, where did they get the money to help him? Or for that matter, why would Hsu post a $2 million bond and then run away?
