American Kids Getting INADEQUATE Health Care- Even Insured Kids

Posted by Raven on October 10th, 2007

Shocking news here folks.

The socialist movement is going to reel when they read this (or they will not say a word….)

As Washington debates children’s health insurance, a startling study finds that kids who regularly see doctors get the right care less than half the time – whether it’s preschool shots or chlamydia tests for teen girls.

The findings, from the first comprehensive look at children’s health care quality, are particularly troubling because nearly all the 1,536 children in the nationwide study had insurance.

Eight-two percent were covered by private insurance. Three-quarters were white, and all lived in or near large or midsized cities.

SO what gives here?

Let’s see. Maybe it’s the parents who don’t feel all this so called preventive health care is really necessary? Maybe the parents have opted to get health care on a as needed basis vs. following guild lines that they question? Or maybe they’re just lazy.

“I was really taken aback by the results for preventive care,” said Dr. Rita Mangione-Smith, lead investigator at the Seattle institute and an associate professor at the University of Washington. “It was really kind of distressing to me that there was some really basic stuff that we should be doing that’s just not happening.”

The study, based on a review of two years of medical records of children in 12 metropolitan areas, was reported in Thursday’s edition of the New England Journal of Medicine.

The data were collected from late 1998-2000. Experts said it’s unlikely children’s health care has improved since then.

The researchers found a huge variance in the rates at which doctors provided care recommended for the most common illnesses and for promoting health.

Oh gimme a break lady. All these recommendations are just that; they are not- I REPEAT- NOT MANDATED.

Yet.

Who wants to place bets, a case of Blueberry Beeah, that stronger legislation will be the result of a Shillary Presidency, based on reports such as this??

Interesting how it’s called “sound policy” when Republicans want to waste American taxpayer dollars on healthcare and other wasteful efforts in Iraq. However, if a Democrat wants to spend just a fraction of that money on our own citizens…then it gets called “socialism”. Typical Republican mindset. The last 6 years have given Republicans the opporunity to show America what thay are made of and it is clear to the world that they are not of, for or by the people. Republicans have squandered their opportunity to do right by the people of the USA and they have a lot of innocent blood on their hands and have done a great deal of damage to the USA. In short, they have screwed over the middle and lower classes to make the rich minority of this nation wealthier all while hiding behind the lie of conservatism and jingoistic patriotism. They have made our country less safe from terrorists as the Bush administration is responsible for the events of 9/11 and he has done nothing to secure our borders since. Republicans have sold out the citizens of the USA for the interests of rich corporate elites all while using Christianity as a shield to ward off criticism at every point when their corruption is exposed. Our troops have been dying in vain in Iraq as the only reason they were originally sent in to begin with was so that Republicans could sieze power in the Senate before 2004. Cowardly Bush never invaded Iraq with any intention of winning a war and the deaths of our soldiers mean nothing to Bush or Cheney. Bush’s intenetions were clearly to appease his wealthy handlers and keepers at the Project for a New American Century and create a permanent American base in Iraq. Republican ideology is a very corrupt thing and this administration bears much resemblence to the Taliban and Osama Bin Laden. They just do in under the disguise of conservatism, jingostic patriotisma and puting on the face of Jesus. It really comes as no surprise that Bush vetoed America’s children in favor of futher wasting America’s tax dollars and soldiers lives in wasteful illegal unconstitutional efforts in Iraq. That will be one of the major points of his legacy as both short term and long term history will remember Bush and this generation of Republicans as the worst and most corrupt ever. In short, if it don’t blow up or explode…then its gonna get vetoed. Thats the Republican way all the way from Nixon to Reagan to Bush Sr and Bush Jr.

If a Republican chooses to waste American tax dollars in illegal unconstitutional wars that have nothing to do with making America safe from terrorists then that is somehow called “sound policy”. If a Democrat wants to spend a mere fraction of that money on America’s children, then it gets called “socialism”. Republicans want to give welfare to the rich and wealthy of the nation but the moment anyone suggests giving it back to the American tax payers then it is called socialism. Where does fantasy end and reality begin with you Republicans. Is there a name for this little fantasy world of devotion to corrupt ideology that you people blindly live in.

If this socialized medicine farce was signed into law by Bush #43… where would our Mother Canuckers up north GO for quality medical coverage then? They’d have to go to … Cuba, eh Michael Mooreon! Thanks to the Demlibloonies there’s been 48 million aborted babies that don’t need any health coverage since 1973!!

  4. Raven Says:

OK Jerimiha and Ken (one and the same??)– what does your long anti GOP rant have to do with my post, which is about those WITH INSURANCE that WILL PAY for kids health care???

I don’t get your complaint here. But that’s typical when someone from the left leaves comments here.

You’re so typical too. Instead of reading what is written, you go off on some tangent that makes little to no sense. You blame Bush. You blame Republicans. You praise socialism like it’s the best thing…Gah. You’re an uneducated baffoon.
