For conservatism to survive and even thrive, a new paradigm must be realized that recognizes we live in a different world than the one inhabited by our ancestors and that many of the old verities we cherished are just no longer relevant to what America has become. For better or worse, the United States is changing – something it has always done and always will do. Without altering most of the core principles of conservatism, it should be possible to change with it, supplying common sense alternatives to liberal panaceas for everything from health care to concerns over climate change.
Wedged between New Hampshire, with its much-watched primary season, and New York, which draws every candidate imaginable, Vermont is the only state that President Bush has yet to visit. Nobody seems offended.
The U.S. Marines were honored on the Senate floor Tuesday, the 24th anniversary of the terrorist attack on the Marine Barracks in Beirut, Lebanon. U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said that although terrorists and suicide bombers are still with us today, “thankfully for America, so are the United States Marines.”
Wild turkeys are running amok in the Boston area, startling, amusing and even chasing residents who have had close encounters with them on the street.
Previously alien to these parts, after having been wiped out long ago, the gobbling fowl are suddenly back and bigger than ever, descending with gusto upon suburbia, according to The Boston Globe.
BWAHAHAH!!
I have dozens of wild turkeys in my back yard, every day. They’ve become friends, sort of.

Since when has Massachusetts become so unfriendly towards these cute and tasty birds? Oh…never mind.

Meanwhile, Boston College will be playing football at Virginia Tech, whose mascot, the Hokie Bird, resembles a turkey. Must be some kind of cosmic justice going on here.
