  • Sunday was the 32nd Annual Marine Corps Marathon.

Organizers say 21,226 runners started the race at 7:30 a.m. and 20,642 finished. That included 1,486 active-duty Marines who began the marathon.

Marine medics tended to those with cramps, shortness of breath, fatigue and other minor problems, but no serious ailments or injuries were reported.

  • Section 8 Housing Problems in NYC:

The vouchers, known as Section 8 vouchers, long a pillar of rent support for needy families, serve about 270,000 city residents. And for decades the program has virtually guaranteed landlords a steady source of rent and a modest profit.

But now, apartment listings routinely exclude voucher holders, marking a significant shift in the way many landlords have come to view the program. Many property owners and real estate agents say the program is overly cumbersome, and in a hot rental market, they say, there is no need to take on a Section 8 tenant.

Again, big bumbling bureaucratic government programs are not attractive. And they end up costing more money.

The article on the excuse to skip work couldn’t be more on track! The phrase “The Vision Matters founders said many employees are fed up with working long hours for little pay, then having no flexibility if they needed to tend to a sick relative or attend their children’s school activities” is right on track. My boss comes in at 10:30am, leaves at 12 for lunch, comes back at 2:45 then wonders why the rest of the company is dying to leave at 5pm, all the while he has all this energy. I say to him..Wake up at 5am, hit traffic, get MAYBE a 1hr lunch and let’s see if you don’t want to leave early to go home, deal with kids, eat, go to bed and start over. I especially like the part about the “psychologist” who would be “ethical” and snitch on his co-worker. I think he’s in the wrong profession. Maybe police or some other law enforcement job would be in line. How about..”If employers would treat people the way they need to be treated, people wouldn’t be using these notes,” Liddell said. Rightly So!!

Alx are you a liberal? Sounds like it to me. WHO CARES what your damn boss does? If he jumped off a bridge would you whine and moan as well? Just have good work ethics and stop worrying and whining about what the others do. Grow up. Be a man. Stop trying to define how people should be “treated” by others…it’ll get you no where in life but will leave you with many chips on your sorry shoulders.
Who wants that baggage? Not me. Only liberals do.
