I did not say I would sit out the election, I just simply will vote 3rd Party or leave the presidential block blank. Can I talk myself into voting for McCain, I dunno. I do not want Hillary or Obama in the WH, not with a Democrat controlled Congress rubberstamping big government spending. But on prinicipal, I am finding it hard to reconcile McCain's actions with his current "I've seen the light" stances on immigration, especially with his open borders "Hispanic Outreach" director.

And I do not believe McCain is an evil man dead set top destroy America. I just think he is not the true conservative he has been portraying himself as. Romney would do just fine IMHO. Does he have foreign policy experience? I don't think McCain's time in the Senate really gives him that much more of a boost in the experience realm of foreign policy. But I could be wrong.

And Raven, while the enemy outside the gates is dangerous, we need someone that isn't going to open the gates to another invader, which McCain has shown more than a passing willingness to do. Without an economy, our resolve, and ability, to hold out against and defeat our Islamic jihadist foes becomes that more difficult.

I'm disgusted by the thought of McCain getting the nomination as well, but I won't sit out the election. I've been seeing more and more of the "none of the above" stuff, and I think that's pretty feeble. The REAL "none of the above" movement is about election law changes, and I think it's a great idea (albeit unrealistic, given that the laws would need to be changed in every state). I sure as hell won't vote for Shrillary, or any other demorat.

If McCain gets the nod, maybe I'll write in Ted Nugent.

Oh yeah, another "Republican rant?" Hardly. McCain's voting record is there for the whole world to see. His left leaning ways are the reason that the media (and others on the left) are so accepting of him.

Duncan, I admire your stance. I can never, ever vote for Hillary the Hadrian. Never.

And, if she is a demon from hell, McCain is her suck-up wanna be. Let him try to be Hillary, he is getting pretty good at it. But he is not worth voting for either. Never.

Okay about the line in the sand:

I agree. Right now I cannot stomach the thought of voting for McCain.

I have been to his campaign site and gone through his issue statements and platform. I have researched his history; his voting record; his speeches. He is NOT a bad man- he does stay true to what he believes in for the most part. He has changed his mind a little on immigration but not enough for me to trust him. I do think, on foreign policy, he would be the better man for the job over Romney.

Romney is a good guy too. I know him in personal ways I cannot mention- and, he was the Gov. of the most liberal asinine state we have- MA. Which is right across my southern border. I could throw my support to him if I knew who his team would be- his Cabinet. I liken him to GWB prior to his first win...a good guy with no foreign policy experience under the belt. In these times, we NEED smart and determined people running this country...who are acutely aware of our enemies and not so focused on the petty stuff (which I call health care reform, guvmint spending, tax reform...these things will all work out...) Many issues important to Conservatives will be fine; we need to worry about more Nanny State shit and terrorist attacks. Romney knows all about Nanny State, trust me- and he can buck all that.

Hey Oscar go take your meds ok buddy?

And McCaint is as liberal as a RINO can get. He's pushed through too many liberal bills, refused to cut taxes, betrayed working Americans by replacing them with illegal immigrants at the whim of the business lobby; he's tried to cut out YOURs and MY free speech...which is fine with YOU so long as MY speech is made a crime. One day perhaps your speech will be as well.

So yeah, take your medicine. Swallow it with the Kool Aid.

McCain "as conservative as they come"? Puh-lease! No one who voted to limit free speech (McCain-Feingold) during campaign season, who voted against tax cuts, who voted to restrict gun owner's rights, and who has a "Mexico first" open-borders advocate on his staff, can be reasonably considered "as conservative as they come".

("Mexico first" is said open-borders advocate's own words.)
