Democrats Call Iraq War Failure.. Bush to Pass War to Successor…
Posted by Duncan on April 18th, 2008
Except it ain’t the Democrats saying it… its Al Qaeda’s #2 guy:
(AP) Al Qaeda’s No. 2 man claimed in a new audiotape released on a militant Web site early Friday that that five years of U.S. occupation of Iraq brought only “failure and defeat,” which the Bush administration will pass on as a “problem” to the next American president.
In the recording, Ayman al-Zawahri alleged that by acting on the advice of his top commanders in Iraq, Gen. David Petraeus, and halting further U.S. troop withdrawals from Iraq until after July, U.S. President George W. Bush was “covering up for the failure” of his Iraq policies.
…
“Bush declared that he will grant Petraeus all the time he needs, a ridiculous show to cover up for the failure in Iraq and to allow Bush to evade the decision to withdraw the forces, which is an admission of the failure of the crusader invasion of Iraq, by passing the problem on to the next president,” al-Zawahri said.
“The truth is that if Bush keeps all his forces in Iraq until doomsday and until they enter hell, they will only see crisis and defeat by the will of God,” al-Zawahri said. “If the American forces leave, they will lose everything. And if they stay, they will bleed to death.”
Sounding the gong of defeat for the United States, Coalition Forces, and the Iraqis. You’ve got the Dhimmicrats, the rabid leftists that run said party and Al Qaeda seemingly talking out of the same set of talking points. I really wish that some organization would create a commercial that shows quotes from the Dhimmicratic leadership next to quotes from Al Qaeda, playing it during primetime from now until election day. This is so blatantly obvious to me that one party in this nation looks to be more closely aligned to the beliefs of our enemies. And the fact that the American people are poised to elect them to complete control of the executive and legislative branches, worries me deeply.

It is the highest time for USA to leave Iraq at last, to stop to commit crimes there and to give peace to Iraq, Iran, Middle East and the world. The only way is to withdrawing US troops.

Really Emil? You mean that the United States is the cause for all of the strife and death in the Middle East? I got a response for ya.. how ’bout that Religion of Peace that seems to be tied to all of the violence over there call for less violence? Hmmm? The levels of US troops would most definitely be lowered if the violence that has plagued Iraq would lessen. Its not US troops blowing themselves up in market places. If you want to lament and handwring over Haditha and Abu Ghraib, ignoring the overwhelming evidence of the evil of the ISLAMIC radicals who choose to kill innocents in the jihad of death and destruction. I can tell where your allegiances lie, and it is not with the forces of freedom….

Withdrawing US troops brings peace? Let’s check the track record on that idea. I remember the US withdrawing troops from Lebanon in 1983 and Somalia in 1993. After the respective withdrawals, Lebanon continued to sink into terrorist-orchestrated violence, and Somalia sank into chaos. Emil, we did it your way twice, and failed dismally at bringing peace both times.

Excellent points Bigfoot… wonder if Emil will be back to address it… if he does come back.. he’ll probably just respond that we screwed it all up so bad by being there in the first place….

Look what our withdrawl did to Vietnam. It would even be worse i the Middle East. Al Queda would have free reign in the Northern part of Iraq and then Iran would take over the Southern part. We would have a cess pool of terrorist camps and launching board for attacks on Israel, Europe. And that would bring peace???

Stix, it’d bring the peace that the jihadists want.. the peace of sharia law (ie; they win we lose)..

It’s impossible to determine whether or not we succeeded in our goals without first possessing a clear understanding of what those goals were? This was the basic problem in Vietnam.

Umm success is when we have a stable government in Iraq and they can defend themselves from the Islamofascists. Not that hard to figure out.
We were winning in Vietnam until the MSM told us we lost the war. The Tet Offencsive was a victory for the US but the MSM said we lost it.

Stix - rather, success is when we have a stable government in the U.S. that can defend us against Islamofascists!
