Who will the white men vote for?
Political commentators’ brains grew new crevices as they pondered the imponderable: Would white males go for the woman or the black? Or as Nora Ephron more pointedly posed the question: Whom do white men hate more — women or blacks?
By Ephron’s calculus, if a white male votes for a black man, it couldn’t possibly be because he finds the man a more suitable candidate. He simply hates women more.
And if he votes for the woman, he’s probably got his nutty uncle’s white-sheet ensemble stashed upstairs in an attic trunk just in case cross burning enjoys a revival. He couldn’t possibly deem any woman superior to any man. He simply hates blacks more.
Are all white males really so monolithically repugnant and predictable?

I’ll vote for the white man too- and who gives a shit if it means I don’t like women or black people? That’s my business!
In this, I prefer McCain over the other two candidates simply because I believe he is the better person to lead this country. It has nothing to do with race, sex, religion, yadda yadda.

I’m not voting for the perfect candidate, the candidate that can “save us all!” but the candidate that is a better person to run our country. I’ll vote for McCain - war veteran and politician who has more experience. Sorry, can’t vote for a socialist snob with no experience (Obama) or a shrill old socialist lady whose main experience was her husband was in the White House. Go McCain!

Jennifer…with all due respect, that is very narrow minded view. McCain is using the same advisors, i.e. Robert Kagan et al, that the Bush catastrophe used…and considering his age and health issues what if he pops off…who will we be left with? People like the current managers of the Pentagon who leave the Jack Idema’s of the world out there to their own fate after doing their bidding. You really need to think past your own prejudices and for your country as a whole. I am an Arizonan from McCain country but this time he is using advise from some rotters. Read up on who is advising him…start first with Lisa Keegan for education…ridiculous…we should be moving forward not backwards.

Same here. Hillary/Obama just suck. They can’t even keep themselves on a decent level of behavior now. What will they do when a white man leader of an enemy country attacks us? Cry race? Screw that. We need someone who can rise above all this petty crap and be serious.
