Oh Kyoto…

The Kyoto Protocol… remember it. The one that Al Gore would have signed us up for if he were president even though the US Senate voted overwhelmingly against it as the environmental treaty would have been economic suicide for the US while giving developing countries like China a free pass. Let’s see how its been going…
…during the last decade the United States has had the best record among industrialized nations in restraining GHG emissions. Between 1997 and 2004, the last year for which comparative data are available: —global GHG emissions increased 18 percent; —emissions from Kyoto Protocol participants increased 21.1 percent; —emissions from non-Kyoto nations increased 10 percent; —emissions from the United States increased 6.6 percent.
Glad we participated in that wonderful treaty…(/sarcasm)

But the moontreebats won’t care about these numbers…because we didn’t ***sign*** onto the pact.
Facts mean little without signatures and handovers of major portions of our economy. And they’ll forever blame Bush. When, as I recall, even Gore ended up voting against this because it was just not feasible (when he was VP and a member of Senate) <— hypocrite of the highest order.
