Monday Morning Links & News

I’m working ALL day…scheduled posting is a great thing and comes in very handy. If I’m not commenting it’s because of work…
- The President’s first Commencement Speech. And most likely his last.
- About Miley:
Miley Cyrus is the most popular act in the country. Her 3-D concert film from her tour, “Best of Both Worlds,” took in an astounding $31.3 million in its opening weekend. Her show, “Hannah Montana,” is a megahit. In 2007, Cyrus reportedly earned $18.5 million.
Cyrus’ fan base is largely young girls, who sell out her concerts, buy her clothing line, and sit rapt before their televisions. Now, they’re being taught by a teen superstar, her father, and a willing media, that inappropriate behavior is no barrier to happiness or satisfaction.
Ahh the culture rot in America.
- More government crack downs. Is it because of unfair practices or stupid people??
- Hmm…what happens when the tax burden and other regulation costs businesses too much:
WASHINGTON - In March 2005, one of the Pentagon’s most trusted contractors - Virginia-based MPRI, founded by retired senior military leaders - won a $400 million contract to train police in Iraq and other hotspots. Two months later, MPRI set up a company in Bermuda to which it subcontracted much of the work.
- Bruce: Risk/Reward. Just go read it.
- School lunches are getting expensive. And in spite of government regulations, they are very unhealthy and fattening. Some alternatives, that have similar food and brown bag ideas I used for my kids when they were in school.
- The Anchoress COMES OUT!
- It bothers me: SLOW LOADING BLOGS. So go make sure you’re doing all you can to speed things up.
- Boxers or Briefs? Hey…doesn’t matter as long as a guy has a body to drool over. Really. That matters. Oh and I guess whatever he’s comfy in.
- Speaking of men:
The Mancave. It’s a good idea to do this. I know from personal experience men need a space to themselves- where women do not enter…or clean up…or ask about.
Took my first road trip to Bar Harbor yesterday. It was overcast and wet in the ams, but the sun broke out later. A gorgeous day!
