McCain Said WHAT?? Bloomberg?? Oh No.
Posted by Raven on June 13th, 2008
I don’t know HOW I missed this news. My support for McCain is quickly fading now. I learned of his potential choice of Mayor Michael Bloomberg for VP over at Bruce’s:
I still think McCain’s a complete piece of crap, but anything’s better than…
Huh?
What’s that newspaper you’re waving in front of my face?
Gimme that.
Oh, that’s real nice.
McCain’s now saying he wouldn’t rule out Michael Bloomberg as a possible running mate? Are you fucking kidding me? We are talking about the same Michael Bloomberg here, right? Michael Bloomberg, the very embodiment of the Nanny State? The same Michael Bloomberg who has made it his life’s mission to bury the firearms industry under mountains of costly litigation?
This would be a deal breaker for me too. To have Bloomberg as his running mate would cause me to NOT vote for McCain. I would write in another name or not even bother voting. Like Bruce, I might be found at the range unloading all day…feeling content and proud, soul intact.

This is precisely why I am now in support of the Constitution Party.
Most of the bloggers haven’t heard of it because it’s not being discussed by the media.
It’s simple why this isn’t so:
1. The CP is strongly against the formation of the North American Union
2. The CP is the strongest link to conservatism
3. The media is getting paid big time to shut out anything that has to do with anti-globalization.
Actually, I am laughing over this; I expected McCain would pull this off back in February.
Latest news: I just heard Tim Russert has died from a heart attack. Sorry for his family.

Yeah, if McCain picks Bloomberg… consider the limited support I have given him to be gone immediately. I’ll vote third party. Will it guarantee a Obama victory. Perhaps. But that won’t be my fault. It will be the Republicans and McCain in particular. However, i doubt McCain is that stupid. If he truly wants to be President, he’ll play it smart…

Steve I like the Constitution Party too but even that is too liberal for me at times!
I just want true freedom for all and this means much sacrifice from all…and even the most steadfast “consevatives” couldn’t live with it.

McCain has never been conservative or trustworthy enough for me, even with Obama as an opponent. I can’t vote for either of them. McCain didn’t give himself any more cred in my books when he flip-flopped on Guantanamo detainees, calling the Supreme Court decision one of the worst in history. (In 2003, the “maverick” went against Bush administration by calling to move forward and bring charges against detainees or let them go; now that the Supreme Court says they can’t be held indefinitely without charges, John calls it the worst thing ever. What gives?)

I think McCain can still be against Gitmo AND call the SC decision the worst ever because the SC decisions doesn’t just effect Gitmo, it effects every war we fight from now on. Enemy combatants we capture in a future war can get civilian lawyers and then try to get a writ of habeas corpus? Why yes, I do believe they can, atleast now. It is more of the same from the Supremes. Just when I thought that an ounce of sanity had returned to those clownshoed, black-robed tyrants….
