I wonder where this guy stands…

The commentery is by a Mr. Navarette. Here are some excerpts:

The undocumented are preyed upon by thugs, cheated by swindlers, exploited by employers, harassed by Minutemen, and made into scapegoats for society’s ills by opportunistic talk radio blowhards and cable news fear-peddlers.

Harassed by Minutemen? Made into scapegoats? Talk ’bout a distraction from the issue of immigration and those who enter this country illegally. We’re just supposed to start crying rivers and expose our bleeding hearts.

Listen, I’m all for people coming to work in this country. However, THIS country gets to decide who comes and who works, not Mexico, or any other country. And I’ll readily admit that we need to set up a system that makes these “undocumented” works documented. We’re not the unemployment line, or the social security, for Mexico. Cries of RACISM and BIGOTS just isn’t going to fly with me, nor is it going to make me back down in calling for immigration reform, the kind that doesn’t stink of amnesty.

The life of an illegal immigrant shouldn’t be a walk in the park. But what most Americans don’t realize is that, far from being easy, that life is quite difficult.

In fact, prosecutors say, for Luis Ramirez, it was murder.

The 25-year-old undocumented immigrant from Shenandoah, Pennsylvania suffered head injuries after he was viciously beaten July 12 by a pack of at least six teenagers. Ramirez was left in convulsions and foaming at the mouth. His attackers stomped him so hard that an imprint of the Jesus medallion he wore was embedded on his chest.

Town pooh-bahs and police — putting public relations before public safety — at first tried to downplay the incident by insisting that this was simply an adolescent fight with tragic and unfortunate consequences.

Would they also say that lynchings in the South were just horseplay that got out of hand?

And to continue the RACIST and BIGOT meme (full up with the lynch-word), Mr. Navarette calls for HATE CRIMES to be tagged on. I hate HATE CRIMES and I don’t think they should exist. They imply that the intent of the alleged criminal can be known. This then can be opened up to interpretation. Everytime a white man kills a black man, or a black man kills an asian man, or a black man kills a white man or if a man kills his wife (hell, maybe he HATES her), then there will be those wanting to pursue enhanced punishment for hate crimes. I think those scumbag punks, who killed an innocent man, regardless of their reasoning behind it, should face murder/manslaughter charges. They murdered him in cold-blood. I could give two farts in the wind why they targeted him, I want them punished for taking away a father of two from his children.

But back to the original post:

But government isn’t the solution, because it didn’t create the problem. Where did these little monsters pick up their prejudices? You know where it usually happens.

Racism begins and ends at the dinner table. And thanks to how poisonous the immigration debate has become, some of what is being served up across America will turn your stomach.

Oh sir, the government indeed is the problem. They have been derelict of duty in even addressing the immigration problem in this country which has led to these tensions which explode into violence. Our congresscritters and the White House need to secure our borders, punish those employers who hired illegal aliens, and set up a true worker program that allows those who come to work to be documented, pay their taxes and get a fair wage for their work.

Even Mexico has tougher laws on immgration than the U.S.

And talk about the kettle calling the pot black. Racism? Ever wonder how the Mexicans treat those who come from south of Mexico, either trying to work there or just passing through to El Norte? Not good.

What annoys me is that people like Mr. Navarette have an agenda, and that agenda is not what is good for the United States, it is what is good for a particular special interest group, in this case illegal aliens of Mexican descent present in the U.S. I don’t hear his cries for the Hondurans in Mexico facing similar, if not worse, fates than their Mexican compatriots living in the U.S.

I’m not surprised that there aren’t more attacks on illegal invaders; people are getting sick of this country turning into another third world slum.

Navarette needs to stop huffing paint.

  2. Raven Says:

Blame the government when it’s convenient. Blame parents and dinner time chat when all else fails..this is the way of it for liberals. Either way, government MUST step up to prevent repeats.

Problem is, it never works. Government screws up everything it gets involved with.

As for hate crimes? Bullshit. There are a lot of people I hate. For a lot of good reasons. I speak of it often. With Hate Crime laws, my hate could make me a suspect. There’s a big difference between hating someone and committing a crime against them…esp murder. Again the liberals would like nothing more than to create hate crime hot lists and eliminate their so called enemies.

Murders, rapes, thefts would continue. Racism would continue. Government cannot change how people think. People base their thoughts upon personal experiences and exposure. Yes, parents have much say in their children’s thoughts, but this influence ends once the kids enter schools and learn to read. Will the liberals kill schools and books and magazines and other sources of reading material? No…but they will censor it all.

    Assholes.
