2.5 Hours until its Time to CELEBRATE!

UPDATE #2 (added by Raven):
HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) – A Mexican-born condemned killer whose case drew international attention has been executed over the objections of an international court and the Mexican government, which contended he was denied access to legal help from his consulate.
With the parents of his victims watching a few feet away, Jose Medellin apologized before he was executed for his part in a horrific attack on two teenage girls 15 years ago.
“I’m sorry my actions caused you pain,” Jose Medellin told the teens’ parents late Tuesday. “I hope this brings you the closure that you seek.”
Nine minutes later, Medellin was pronounced dead. His execution, the fifth this year in Texas, was delayed for about four hours while the U.S. Supreme Court weighed his appeal.
Seems no one bended over to International intervention. Good. One less illegal killer among us.
UPDATE: There has been a stay issued… atleast until midnight…. cross our fingers that the Supreme’s don’t bend to “international” pressure…
HUNTSVILLE, Texas — The scheduled execution of Jose Medellin in Texas is on hold while the U.S. Supreme Court considers an appeal in his case. The death warrant, which allowed the lethal injection to be carried out after 6 p.m. CDT, remains in effect until midnight.
The Mexican-born Medellin, 33, faced lethal injection in a case that has drawn international attention after he raised arguments he wasn’t allowed to consult the Mexican consulate for legal help after he was arrested for the horrific slayings of 16-year-old Elizabeth Pena and her friend, 14-year-old Jennifer Ertman.
And just to remind us of this choir-boy who deserves a reprieve from spending time burning in hell:
Testimony at his murder trial showed Medellin was the first of the gang to start the attack, grabbing Pena, who then cried out for help from her friend.
By the time it ended an hour later, Medellin, then 18, and five fellow gang members had raped the girls and forced them to perform sex acts before beating and then strangling them with a belt and shoelaces. Medellin subsequently boasted to friends about having “virgin’s blood” on his underpants.
And exactly why are we giving this piece of filth a stay again? Because he wasn’t allowed to go and talk to the consulate, who would have said… “Your bad.. so sad. We can’t do anything for you Jose.” A technicality being used by anti-death penalty advocates and the enlightened Europeans (but I repeat myself) to save this pond scum.
ORIGINAL POST BELOW:
Jose Ernesto Medellin, 33, was due to be executed by lethal injection at 2300 GMT in the state of Texas. He was convicted of the 1993 rape and murder of two teenagers and is one 51 Mexican nationals on death row in the United States.
YES! Time to celebrate the death of a scum bag who no longer deserves to suck valuable oxygen out of the atmosphere.
You bleeding hearts out there that believe the death penalty (yeah, I said penalty, I could give two craps that it isn’t the so-called “deterrent” that some claim, that is why it is not called the death deterrent) is some sort of evil, cruel thing, please ask Jennifer Ertman, 14, and Elizabeth Pena, 16 how they feel about the death penalty.
Oh wait, you can’t. They were both gang-raped and tortured for an hour, and then strangled with a belt, and then when the belt broke, they were strangled to death with their own shoelaces. Please tell me how hard it will be living in prison for life, getting three square meals, a place to sleep, free medical care, education, and gyms. Sure, they’ll have to watch out for their prison husbands and wives, but that’s a small price to pay to be alive and living in relative luxury. Lethal injection is too good for this piece of human excrement (apologies to actual excrement everywhere), a baseball bat, a blow torch, and a pair of needle nose pliers would do the job nicely in my humble opinion.
The International Court of Justice ruled in 2004 the United States had violated the rights of those prisoners, in part because officials and prosecutors failed to notify their home country, from which the men could have received legal and other assistance.
Those judges ordered the United States to provide “review and reconsideration” of the sentences and convictions of the Mexican prisoners.
That world court again last month ordered the United States to do everything within its federal authority to stop Medellin’s execution until his case can be further reviewed.
Based in The Hague, Netherlands, the world court resolves disputes between nations over treaty obligations. The United States is one of the signatories to the 1963 Vienna Convention, laying out rights of people detained in other nations. The Supreme Court appeal turned on what role each branch of government plays to give force to international treaty obligations.
Chief Justice John G. Roberts wrote for a 6-3 majority that international court judgments cannot be forced upon individual states. The president also cannot “establish binding rules of decision that pre-empt contrary state law,” he said, and the treaty itself does not specifically require states to remedy any treaty violations.
Oh and the international community, you can kiss Texas’s big, lone star ass. We didn’t give up our sovereignty to the U.N. and the ICC, and the federal government doesn’t have the right to give up that sovereignty.

Wonder what the woman who whelped these Vermin (Midellian boys)

What is the wesite to send Vermancio a congratulatory letter? I am very much a senior citizen and won’t be around when is barbarian comes up for parole – but I hope we keep it in mind to have a big showing to keep him from getting it. And to the ignorants who claim that the death penalty isn’t a dterrant – I have never seen a killer put to death who came back and did it AGAIN!!! Sob sisters – take note.

Thanks for the update Raven. Glad to see that we didn’t bend to “international” will as they attempted to save a murdering pigs life from his just desserts.

And another thing about this case, this technicality of the treaty and the consulate consultation. I don’t believe Medellin was prevented from talking to the consulate, he just didn’t talk to them because he didn’t think they could help him, not necessarily because he wasn’t told. But either way, welcome to the United States. You have Constitutional rights here. And had you chosen, Jose, to call the Mexican consulate, then we would not have prevented you from doing so and made sure, in fact, that you were put in contact with them. But we don’t have to tell you of that. Not part of the Miranda rights our Supreme Court decided was due people. So Adios Jose. Say hi to Satan for us!
