HUNTSVILLE, Texas (AP) — An illegal immigrant from Honduras who claimed his treaty rights were violated when he was arrested for a robbery and murder lost his appeal Thursday at the U.S. Supreme Court, clearing the way for his execution.
In the second case of its kind this week in Texas, lawyers for condemned killer Heliberto Chi went to the nation’s highest court claiming Chi should have been told he could get legal assistance from the Honduran consulate. He was arrested in California and extradited to Texas to face charges for killing his former boss at a men’s clothing store during a robbery more than seven years ago.
Chi, 29, was scheduled for lethal injection for the fatal shooting of Armand Paliotta. Chi had once worked for Paliotta as a tailor at the store in Arlington, between Dallas and Fort Worth.
The Supreme Court, ruling less than three hours before Chi’s scheduled execution time, rejected his appeal without dissent.
He’s gonna fry baby! And there was no dissent from the leftists on the Supreme Court? How was this different from the Medellin case? Anyways.. I’m saving the happy dance for when the bastard has breathed his last….

And I am happy because a murdering scumbag, who deprived a person of their right to life and happiness, is no longer breathing. To me, this is less about illegal immigrants and more about murdering and/or raping scum needing to stop converting O2 to CO2. And Heliberto Chi came to this country illegally to work, but his offense was not necessarily robbing someone of their life. You wouldn’t see me do a happy dance for his summary execution for violating, blatantly, U.S. immigration laws. However, Chi made the decision to enter into crime, and then stole the very life’s breath from a man. Note to Chi, and other scum, both citizens and illegals alike, don’t do this in Texas.

I think that a society can’t make the same mistake as a single individual.
As a society we can’t answer to violence with hate and violence otherwise we will end up in a vicious circle in which we all kill each other.
It’s not by taking the murderer’s life that you solve the problem, but by educating them. But maybe that would take too much effort…

Society doesn’t make the mistake, the criminal does. The rules are laid out well ahead of time. Everyone knows that to MURDER someone is wrong, yet people still do it, no matter how educated they are, college professor or day laborer. Those who do not know it is wrong, despite it being common knowledge in society, are spared the death penalty, though they might be incarcerated in a mental facility for life. Educating someone about murder… fanciful thoughts for a fanciful people, the kind of people who live in gated communities and protected by those who made of sterner stuff..
And forgiveness is theirs for the asking, isn’t Christ amazing? Yet Jesus did not snap His fingers and take that thief off the cross either did He, and I am sure that we are in agreement that He could have being that He is the Son of God. As Jesus said, give unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. Jesus also said He didn’t come to replace the old law, but to fulfill it. And I don’t remember anything about Him condemning capital punishment.
I think you meant “shame on you”. It would be nice if the men who commit these horrid acts would not commit them, then I would not get to celebrate the justice that they recieve. Perhaps you should but the blame and/or shame on them instead of holding their hands and kissing their alligator tears.
So using this “philosophers” logic, we should not warn the criminal nor give him due process or a day in court. Simply catch him, and then kill him, in the manner that he himself used on his victims. And ofcourse, using the Merriam-Websters definition of “murder”, it is the “UNLAWFUL KILLING” of a person. You view capital punishment in your “enlightened” and “nuanced” pseudo-intellectual world-view as “murder”. I view it as justice being placed upon someone in response to murder being committed.

I was a liberal. I felt bad for everyone and allowed other people’s problems become MY problems. I was soft. I was impotent. So, yes, a limp dick.
I am a woman who is poor but who lives with a man of wealth. I take not one penny from him and am proud of this.
I am not ugly…nor am I beautiful. Just average.
And I work out every day (for three hours), run 10 plus miles every day, lift weights, am in extremely good shape and work hard to keep strong and healthy. I do this so I can live a long productive life, so I can be alive to see my Grandkids and hopefully Great Grand kids.
And work? I’m a nursing assistant and not too many people can claim they work harder than I do. Maybe truck drivers although I’ve done that and it ain’t anywhere near as hard as what I do. I work tons of hours just to pay my bills and refuse ANY help from government, even though I qualify on my own for several “programs”. Pfft. I don’t need help. I have some pride.

its rather annoying for all americans to think that they are the best at absolutely everything.
we are all free, america didn’t create freedom, just capitalize the idea, sold it to a bunch of people like you and well now u think everything is the way it is just cause you say so.
i can’t believe you think Europe and specially France are weak economies, (hard to believe you have been there) they are strong mature economies that in no ways compare to America where most of the richness goes to the hands of a few huge companies and the rest to an ever shrinking failed middle class. you gotta remember the french revolution.
So in your views how have things changed ever since a republican went into office?
the economy is a disaster, and so many other things i would not end the list today.
and also why does it matter about your looks?? if you are full of hate! as far as i know i don’t even need to know such a person like yourself. I wonder if you kiss your kids with that dirty mout of yours. I wonder what kind of things you teach them.
and in no way i consider myself lazy or weak. I’m on a quest to take my message across the world, I was very poor but i have achieved so much on my own without the need of any government, but i know there is people out there who doesn’t have the same opportunities and i won’t deny that person my wealth never. not even if it was a republican like yourself.
I’m 24 about to finish a second PhD. and yeah making tons of money to help anyone i can!!! no matter if they are gays, illegals, republicans, Christians, Muslims, democrats, etc. etc.
Use your brains Raven, is never to late to recognize that you have been wrong all along. don’t bury yourself down the path of hate and isolation.
Never Hide behind a website, nor have one just to ban things you don’t like. I believe that we can all be heard, i will listen to your point of view anytime, but i will surely probe that you are dead wrong.

Perhaps your perceptions of repukes is a bit off target. Not all of us are religious – heck some of us question religion. Not all of us define traditional “family” values as married couples with kids…and not all of us drink the Kool Aid of the party. Nope.
I was married for 20 yrs and have three adult children. The marriage went sour, I kicked HIM out cause he bored me; started a new life and recently ended up with a new man- who is a successful business owner and who’s wife died several yrs ago…he has three little kids. I will never ever get married again. Marriage is a set of chains I care not to have around me.
I am also a very independent woman. I refuse to allow those chains to be in control of my destiny, money wise. So, no, I won’t stay home and raise the kids while he brings home the bacon. No thanks. I find my own pigs, slaughter them, slice the bacon, cook it and eat it myself. I share…but on my terms.

Why is it wrong to love one’s country and think it’s the best? To me, this is America. To someone else it might be France. Or Brazil. Or Honduras. Wherever. There is nothing wrong with pride. Americans deserve to be proud. Other peoples of other lands are simply jealous.

You’re assuming I’m full of hate…how lazy of you. My opinions don’t equate hate. If you bothered to read anything else here, you would see this. But no…instead you ramble on based upon a few front page posts.
People do have opportunities. All the time. If I can climb out of the life I have lived, anyone can. Not too many people can say they have experienced the things I have. I smile every day. I consider myself to be happy, content. My friends and people who work with me tell me I’m an upbeat person who inspires them. I always have a house full of people- friends, acquaintances, co workers, family, ect ect- for someone who hates and is isolated I sure do have a lot of laughing company.
You’re the one with the hate. You’re the one making judgments. You’re the one assuming I don’t use my brain. Sorry. You’re wrong. I do- all the time. Just because my thoughts and mindset don’t equal yours doesn’t make me wrong, bad, hateful or isolated. We disagree and that’s healthy. It’s normal. It’s expected.
I question your level of education BTW- judging by your spelling and use of words. I believe you’re young- that comes across loud and clear with your words…but pHD’s??? Hmm.

Hector, Claudio, and yes, even Bunny (though not as bad as Hec and Claud), are trolls. They can not give a rebuttal or support their arguments. They simply continue to spew forth their words incoherently or sidestep and switch to a new line of argument. They only wish to stir up and agitate without actually putting forth any comments that are constructive to an actual debate (though every now and again Bunny does something that resembles debate.. sometimes). From now on, whenever a troll simply vomits forth Trollish™ in a comment, I plan to simply replace his words with this picture:
