I'd hate to tell you but the term "blue blood" refers to a member of the aristocracy. I thought you said you wanted someone who repped the real people. I'm confused as usual after reading one of your posts.

Bunny- there aren't any Congress critters who rep the real people. The closest one I can relate to might be Tom Tancredo. Otherwise, not a one.

That's why I think we should fire them all and hire new blood. Real blue blood and recharge the engines of the country. And I'm looking for candidates who are new, bold, daring, different. Who want small government, who want less welfare and less government programs; who will do what the Constitution says they need to do.

I tend to be more libertarian than repuke as you like to call me.

Raver-

"Snobby confidence" you say? "Arrogance?" Sounds to me like our current Commander in Chief. But you wouldn't notice that, as he is one of yours.

And tell me Ravenous, gimme ONE (r)epuke that represents you and the other blue collar workers.

I think stories about America’s founding fathers have become the stuff of legends. Which is good, because every great country has its heroes, but I think it makes our founding fathers incomparable to other presidents (However, I would kill to have Adams or Washington be prez again. Mmmmm….). I think Raven brings up an interesting point though. Obama was once poor and is now rich. Some people view this as Obama being unable to represent blue collar workers. But isn’t this the American dream? Don’t most people want to work there way to a better standard of living? I think McCain is 100x more bad-ass then Obama will ever be (5 years in the Hanoi Hilton will do that), but McCain has never walked on both sides of the class divide like Obama has.

Of course I know about the big O's life. It means nothing to me because he has changed. He's a man of wealth and class now. He doesn't represent me. Or any other blue collar worker. In fact, I cannot think of ONE democrat who really does.

And you're right: No American president of the past century has ever truly walked in my shoes. Not even the big O. If they did, things would be very different in this country.

DJ,

Yes, I think most of us knew that he grew up in Hawaii. Doesn't change the fact it takes alot of $$$ to travel, pay for lodging and for food there. And I think we can also agree that the majority of people who aspire to higher national office are those who are not the "average" guy. Many of our Founding Fathers were well-to-do when compared to other Americans of their time. But I doubt that they tried to put themselves off as some working class bubba at the docs. I think the difference was they, the founders, wanted people to have liberty and equality of opportunity, regardless of their socio-economic status. Too many people who play the "I'm just like you little guy" are looking for the equality of results and promise those results at the expense of others.... (Yes.. I'm looking at you Obama.)

I'm not saying that I'm rooting for Obama, but you do know he grew up in Hawaii? Also, and I’m only putting this out there as something to think about, but most people know that the majority of politicians are from the upper class of society. The whole "I-identify-with-the-people-cause-I'm-an-average-guy" thing is a farce. No American president has ever come from the working class (Question: do people think politicians should be elected from the working class?). Ironically, the people who hate Obama because they believe he is elitist should be all over him if they actually knew about his up brining.

And he’s taking a vacation in Hawaii. Yeah, i am sure most of the low and middle-income Americans can just afford to run off to Hawaii for a vacation whenever they feel like it.

Going back to find his birth certificate, hopefully.

I took two vacations in Hawaii back in the 1990's. I was lucky enough to have had a friend who lived there.
