Biden - Doing the People’s Will
Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said yesterday that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.Biden’s comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.
But his statements represent the Democrats’ strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years
…
“[N]ot out of vengeance, not out of retribution,” he added, “out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president — no one is above the law.”
Thanks Joe. ‘preciate the effort you and Barack will give us in your pandering to your wacky left base “pursuit of justice”. While you do that, feel free to investigate the Clinton Administration while you are at it. After all, “no one is above the law”. And why stop at Clinton, lets look back all the way to Truman. Hell, maybe we can charge him with war crimes for his use of atomic weapons against the poor imperialist Japanese?

Biden is such a damn liar. Of course this would be out of revenge. Obama mentioned this before and got lots of flack for it. I think there is a very small percentage of people who would care to see this happen; everyone else wants to
MOVE ON
President Bush is down to his last three months. He’s defended this country more than any other President, IMHO. He rocks because of that. He’s a good man. He never asked for 9-11; the world disregarded Iraq one time too many. Bush took care of the problem. Many don’t like it. But our country is safer because of it. The Middle East will not soon forget what comes to them when America is attacked by one of them.
Ah, Duncan. The facts never seem to get in the way of your hate-filled rants against Democrats. A congressional oversight report from the House of Representatives found the following:
“Republican congressional oversight committees have shown extraordinary
deference to the Bush Administration. No subpoenas have been issued to the White House, and as documented in a companion report, numerous allegations of serious wrongdoing have been ignored.
Republican chairmen claim they are conducting oversight evenhandedly. But they took a vastly different approach when President Clinton was in office. During the Clinton Administration, the oversight committee in the House of Representatives issued over 1,000 subpoenas to investigate alleged Administration and Democratic Party misconduct, and it received over two million pages of documents. The information demanded by Congress included details of discussions between President Clinton and his closest advisors, internal e-mails from the Office of the Vice President, FBI interview notes, and documents describing internal Administration deliberations. Clinton White House officials including the President’s top aides provided hundreds of hours of testimony to congressional committees.
The cost of these investigations was enormous. Over $35 million was spent on congressional investigations of the Clinton Administration. When combined with the costs of investigations by independent counsels, the total amount of taxpayer funds expended on investigating President Clinton and his Administration exceeded $150 million. These cost estimates are conservative because they do not include the costs of multiple other investigations of the Clinton Administration.”
Over 150 million dollars of taxpayer funds. So why is it okay for Republicans to investigate Democrats but not okay for the Democrats to investigate Republicans?
“He never asked for 9-11; the world disregarded Iraq one time too many.”
Ah, Raven, perpetuating the lie that the 9/11 terrorists were from Iraq?
“President Bush and his senior aides began plotting the invasion of Iraq just days after he took office in January 2001 and not, as the administration has indicated, after terrorists struck against the United States eight months later, according to former Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill”.
oops, thats right, Paul O’Neill was one those that he dumped when truth, or actual expertise, got in the way.
Dina,
Forever felating the Democratic party eh? Any investigation that is backed by purely partisan politics is a waste of taxpayer money, whether it is against a Republican and/or a Democrat. But I have the strange feeling that this is more pandering to the crazy bat-$h!t crazy left, which I am sure you are part of, than about “justice”. And I am sure that the Obama/Biden Administration will be just as proactive as the Pelosi/Reed Congress (and they’ve been in charge since ‘06) in investigating and prosecuting Bush for his “war crimes” and “lying to the American” people. Basically, they’ll just use it as a platform position that will be thrown away as soon as they are in office… once again, purely partisan politics that makes me ill when coming from either side…
Hey Dina,
The planning to invade Iraq and replace the Hussein regime starting in 1998 in the Clinton Administration. Don’t let that little fact get in your way either…. douche-nozzle….
“douche-nozzle….” Nice. Please articulate what makes a person “crazy bat-$h!t crazy left”. I’m just curious, as there’s so much vague name calling on this site without backing it up with any stated specific reasons.
Dina,
Douche-nozzle is a term of endearment for those I hold in such a high-regard. Especially those who I believe are part of the “crazy bat-$h!t crazy left”. The kinda of people who read DKos, Huffington Post, and Democratic Underground religiously (pun intended). The kind of people who believe that Bush is the cause of all of the world’s ills and if we hadn’t had him selected by the Supreme Court then Al Gore would be healing the planet. The kind of people who disagree with the war, but don’t just disagree, they seem to hate America as is (needs a touch more communism). They believe our troops are all baby-killers targeting civilians (but don’t question their patriotism) and want to support them by calling for a full out retreat from conflict and be damned the consequences. Those are people who fall under that umbrella of “bat-$h!t crazy”. And strangely enough, that sounds like a lot of the Democrat leadership as well…
Well Duncan, I have never read DKos, Huffington Post, and Democratic Underground. I dont believe that “Bush is the cause of all of the world’s ills”, I just think he is a terribly incompetent president who has done a really bad job. I’ve never met a single American who “hates America as is”, or a single person who “believes our troops are all baby-killers targeting civilians”. I do think that the way to support the troops is to lead them wisely and not send them into harms way for unjustified reasons-to respect their lives and what they’ve chosen to do enough to only use them for defense. I do think we should leave Iraq as responsibly as we can, as the majority of America also thinks and, um, Bush is now trying to do.
I think your democrat-hate is bizarre and completely fabricated. You’re either making up a lot of bull or buying someone else’s propaganda. Why do you want to keep up all the nastiness, why are you so obsessed?
While I am glad to hear that you are not a card-carrying member of the bat-$h!t crazy left, perhaps you should go stop by the DKos, Dem. Underground and Huffington to see what those who are increasingly influential in the Democrat Party are saying.
We can disagree and argue til we are blue in the face about the Iraq war, and whether it was wise or justified. That is a legitimate discussion, and if you want we can open a new thread to re-hash it all over again ad nauseum. However, wishing to pull our troops out of harms way simply to “respect their lives” is like stopping a fireman from running into a burning building. Its their job. So please don’t use that tired out horse, its been beat to a pulp by the anti-American left in this country and ain’t nobody buying it anymore.
I don’t have “democrat-hate” for the sake of “democrat-hate”. The only thing I truly hate is socialism, and its scientific cousin communism. And the Democrat party is embracing these philosophies more and more every year. I also can’t stand the Big Government Republicans. They’re “Democrat Lite” in my opinion, and on their way to embracing socialism as bad as the Dems. I believe that socialism/communism is the polar opposite of what our Founding Fathers desired and the Constitution allows. Our Founding Father’s overthrew a king who dictated what they could and could not do from across the ocean. I fear we’ve replaced a king with an oligarchy, made up of political elites from both parties. Thomas Jefferson said “the government that governs best is one that governs least.” He’d shake his head in disbelief at how the American people have traded their freedoms for securities and a nanny state..
and I don’t “buy” anybody’s propaganda. I won’t be spoon-fed by anyone what I am to think. And as far as being “obsessed”, well, if trying to stop the enemies of freedom and liberty in every avenue possible is “obsessed” instead of being distracted by American Idol, then I guess I will just have to wear that label…
