Apple Season Again!!
Posted by Raven on September 22nd, 2008
It’s apple season up here. We went apple picking a couple weekends ago and the harvest wasn’t quite READY…so my friends and I went over to Hollis NH and picked several dozen pecks worth and I did some cooking.
First off, I made a loaf of apple bread- unformed and shaped, but SO GOOD with hot apple butter.
Then I baked some apple-cranberry pies. Got the cranberries over at a local pog. The pies were better than the ones I baked this time last year.
And for the grand finale this evening, my friends and I baked an apple stuffed pork loin. IT WAS VERRRRY GOOD! All the apples we used were Macs, too. Nothing is better for baking…even Grannies SUCK in comparison.
I love autumn…it’s forever associated with apples up here, and the food takes on a different flavor and scent this season.

Hello,
I saw the Apple bread picture and wondered if you’d be willing to share the recipe. It looks just like the bread they make in North Georgia!
