Powerful election video (in the Elijah at Horeb sense*)

A message we all need to hear, Catholic or not.
Admidst all the hot and bother of the media election circus, we all need to take a reflective break to help us refocus on the crucial issues and responsibilities entrusted to us as voters
The combination of words, photos, and music was incredibly moving. Make sure you have a box of tissues on hand before you click on the play button.

Yep that was powerful.
I’m Catholic but I don’t practice it. I admit that I am very extremely skeptical of all religions and I believe all religion to be the root of most evils in this world. That and money.
Having said that, LIFE is paramount. It is what WE are about. Humans are here, along side every other animal, to reproduce. Nothing more or less. Human life is absolute, and we as humans have a duty to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Working in nursing all my life, I have seen some pretty horrible things. Some pretty disgusting and gross things. And I’ve seen death up close and personal. Life counts. Every life. Esp the lives of the unborn. Who never have a chance to utter a cry, a scream, a plea, for said life.
Abortion is evil. And wrong. Under any circumstance. There are alternatives that respect life.

I’m not Catholic, but I think this video sends a powerful and important message. I’d like to think that religious conviction has greater significance than religious affiliation … but like Raven, I absolutely do not trust zealots of any persuasion. I’ll find my own way to God (I hope), and when I vote it will most assuredly hinge on my definition of what will best serve the interests of my country and its people. And uh, it won’t be Obama.

Everything about life- the experience of living one’s natural life-goes against most Democrat ideals, IMO.
Abortion. Assisted suicide, euthanasia…the expectation that women abort disabled babies; the duty of old people to die rather than fight for life; the Terry Schiavo’s of the world….notice most don’t have an opportunity to speak for themselves. The Dems want to keep it that way.
So I cannot vote for any of them.

My thoughts on organized religion. I believe that it, being made up of broken beings, is susceptible to the same corruptions as any other man-made creation. It does not make it evil. I also don’t believe that money is the root of all evil. The LOVE of money however, as our Savior put it, is. And the love of money, more times than not, is one of the major corrupting influences in religion. You can usually tell the corrupt in religion as they no longer reflect the Word of God as written in the Bible.
My thoughts on this video. Excellent. While it was made for Catholics, to encourage them to vote, it rings true to Protestants as well. I, in fact, plan to send this to my family and friends as well, with the obvious caveat that replace Catholic with Christian and it works for us as well.

The music is great. What is it?
Many protestants, including the so-called Evangelicals, are also very much opposed to abortion. I hope your protestant friends, Duncan, won’t be too taken aback by the scene with president Kennedy and an obviously high-ranking Catholic clergyman.

I’m dumb when it comes to all things religious. LOL
Christians? Aren’t we all Christians? Catholics, Protestants, so on???
