Two videos…[Updated]

Posted by Duncan on September 26th, 2008

This first video is something that bugs me. Basically, from this report, the Obama campaign has successfully solicited prosecutors and law enforcement in Missouri to fight any “lies” that are attempted to be spread about Obama. But there is no mention in the report about “lies” that might be spread against McCain. Are these law enforcement representatives, in fact, endorsing one candidate over another by targeting those who would campaign against Obama? With the number of outright lies being spread about Palin, I am surprised not to see any emphasis made on protecting her with the same vigor as Obama. Troubling to say the least.

(J.D. over at He Went To Paris wonders if this even legal? Unfortunately, it probably is, as he concludes. Doesn’t make it right though.)

**New development on Missouri truth squads – see end of post**

And this last video is an excellent, excellent description of what happened with this crisis, and who is to blame (and its obvious that it is from a McCain supporter. Question, would this individual be prosecuted in Missouri if the Obama campaign claimed that it was full of lies?):

(update September 27, 2008 8:35PM by civil truth)

The governor of Missouri earlier today issued the following press release:

Gov. Blunt Statement on Obama Campaign’s Abusive Use of Missouri Law Enforcement

JEFFERSON CITY - Gov. Matt Blunt today issued the following statement on news reports that have exposed plans by U.S. Senator Barack Obama to use Missouri law enforcement to threaten and intimidate his critics.

“St. Louis County Circuit Attorney Bob McCulloch, St. Louis City Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Jefferson County Sheriff Glenn Boyer, and Obama and the leader of his Missouri campaign Senator Claire McCaskill have attached the stench of police state tactics to the Obama-Biden campaign.

“What Senator Obama and his helpers are doing is scandalous beyond words, the party that claims to be the party of Thomas Jefferson is abusing the justice system and offices of public trust to silence political criticism with threats of prosecution and criminal punishment.

This remainder of the press release is here (H/T)

I watched the video and it says much…but we can’t place all the blame of this so called crisis on the Lems. It’s beyond that…politics. Its about big government gone wild; greedy businessmen and stupid people. Three factors that created the perfect storm of events we’re seeing now.

NO matter, I am totally against the bailing out of the greedy businessmen. It’s wrong that the government is doing this and it has shaken my faith in freedom. I am prepared to no longer do any financial business in the US- rather, turning to foreign institutions that have no interest (literally and figuratively) in the US markets. I need US cash. But I don’t need US Banks to give it to me. I don’t need American credit cards or loans.

  2. Duncan Says:

Raven, the Dems deserve a majority of the blame with their socialist meddling in our economy. I blame Bush and the Republicans for refusing to continue to try and fix the problem. They should hvae kept trying to fix what the Dems broke, but like all entitlement programs, they couldn’t close Pandora’s Box fast enough. But they stopped fighting…

  3. Raven Says:

I think they got distracted by the WOT, among other things.

It’s awful, this bailout. Just awful. The bailout, I am sure, contains all sorts of agreed upon pork, socialist programs, and the like. The GOP went to far left, following the Lems, and now we’re all caught up in it- further left than we ever thought we’d go- but not as far as the Donkeys.

  4. Raven Says:

…and this bailout is the mother-of-all-meddling. LOL
