Until 154 years ago, but what about the countries that still do? Oh, I forgot, they aren't "Christian" nations, so that's ok, even now. And our record with Native Americans is not the best, to be sure, but their's with us was not pristine, either, and they (as a whole) were not the "noble savages" the media would have us think. And yes, we have made some terrible blunders as a nation. Yet people from every nation want to come and live here as citizens, some willing to die trying. I wonder why? Yeah, we had slavery.
