NOPE

I’m holding hope that McCain wins this election. Because I love my country. However, I realize the chances of this could be slim based upon all the fondling media reports.
No matter. If Barry Hussein wins, I vow:
I will not support him
I will never EVAH pray for him
I will not refer to him as my President
I will not respect him

I remember people saying this after Bush won 2004. Real mature. Extra mature points for you because you’re making fun of Obama’s name.

Eh, gotta say I hope you change your mind. I hope the guy loses, but if he wins we have to suck it up and get on with life – and start prepping for the midterm elections to take back the Hill.

This is where I rarely must respectfully disagree.
IF Senator Obama wins tomorrow, short of some sort of criminal action or evidence of rampant voter fraud, he will be my President. I will respect the office of the Presidency, if not the man. I will support him when he makes good decisions (which I believe will be extremely rare), and be there, waiting in the wings to come off the top rope when he makes disastrous changes by pushing towards socialism. I do understand wanting to wash our hands of the man because he is the anti-thesis of freedom and liberty, things we hold more dear than security and welfare. But I am not ready to go there yet.
Now, I will lampoon him and his decisions when I disagree, the same way I will the Democrat-Socialist Congress. I will call things as I see them, and at times rant and rave.
But I will respect the Office of the President of the United States. And that is ’bout the best Senator Obama can expect from me.

dj, at least I’m not threatening to leave the country.
And mature or not, it’s where I’m at.
Let’s see if Barry can give me reason to change my opinion. IF he wins.
Let’s see how he can unite all people.
FWIW, there are issues I have with McCain that cause me to have less respect for him as well. He is the lesser of two evils, and in the big picture, the security of this country is foremost on my mind. McCain understands the threats. Barry does not.
Issues related to the economy will work themselves out. Issues related to health care will work themselves out. No matter who is elected.
National security can be (and indeed was– Clinton) compromised by a sitting President. Barry wants to sell our soul in exchange for a cross fingered promise to do no harm to us, from known liars who lead nations that support terrorists.
Second on my mind, and very close to the first, is the taking away of freedoms that Barry will try to do. Everyone whines about Big Brother now? Wait until his Civilian Defense Force gets running. Dare to disagree with the thug? Right now he kicks those off his planes and denies them reporting privies. What will he do to roughly half the country if people stand up and speak against him? Guns…I could go on and on.

Dan I don’t suck it up to no one. Esp a socialist tyrant. LOL
But I will be looking at mid elections…and making some serious changes in who I vote for.

Duncan I always respect the office. Just not always the man who holds it.
And the mean bitch inside me is firing up- as she did when Clinton’s days came to an end and when I decided THAT man did not deserve my respect.
I already know enough about Barry to feel quite comfortable saying he doesn’t deserve my respect. If anything, he deserves my full wrath and hate. …
Barry isn’t going to be MY President because I cannot stand up to the stuff he will try to do. And we know some of this is very unconstitutional.
No President should mess with it, and he will.

Nicely put. Very nicely put.

Right on Raven! It is like every one is afraid to dissagre with him! Not me, although I have heard if he wins to say such will be considered treason after he gets in office!

I will respect the office of the presidency just like I have with GW, and did with Bubba, George HW, Reagan, heck, even with Jimmuh, Gerry and Tricky Dicky. After all, it’s the office, not the man, that commands respect and every one of them soiled that office to one extent or another (some much more literally than others).
The problem as I see it is that with B-grade the office itself will change by congressional fiat, slowly, almost imperceptably (as it did in Germany with another band of true believers) until we have our own version of “Krystalnacht”, then the natural thing to do by the party in overwhelming power will be to bestow what is now unrecognizable power at its head to “protect its citizens” from those extremist thugs who disagree with the Chosen One.
Heck, he’s already got his brownshirts, and his propaganda machine. All he needs is the headline disaster caused and carried out by Christian extremists and the rest is a cakewalk.
At that point it will no longer be the office of the Presidency, it will be the beast of the Revelations devouring any who presumes to honor his Lord and Master over the Obamessiah.
I no longer fear for our country, for it is lost already, or for myself for I’m old. I do weep for my children and their children, for they’ll have to live their lives under his “re-education” unity (believe my way or else!) and they’re all independent enough that they’ll end up in the converted coal-fired plants as the energy used to run them. Just think, he’ll be able to entertain Ahmadinijad by chandelier light powered by the screams of burning disagreers.
What a unifying vision for change he has…

Raven, how those of us who dare to criticize and disagree with BHO will be treated is one of my greatest concerns. I’m not expecting Barry himself to send the FBI, etc., out to harass dissenters (although I don’t rule it out completely), but instead his surrogates, like the Bill Ayerses and Jeremiah Wrights out there, and the MSM will likely come after his critics with a vengeance, both in person and by searching their records for past faux pas (as Joe the Plumber recently found out).
On the other hand, I remember people being audited by the IRS after either criticizing Bill Clinton, alleging an affair with him, or accusing him of sexual misconduct. Paul Jones, Gennifer Flowers and Juanita Broderick, for example, found themselves dealing with the IRS. Katharine Prudhomme, who asked Vice President Gore what he thought of Broderick’s accusation, was audited by the IRS soon thereafter.
Like you and Duncan, I will respect the Office. The man in it will get my respect if and when he earns it. But if it’s Barry, I’m not holding my breath. I will pray, if not for BHO, then for the country. We’re gonna need it.

I agree with Duncan’s statement, with a few alterations:
And if Barack wins the election, starting tomorrow or later, I will resume my jeremiads of an impending totalitarian state and/or destruction of our nation.
What I will say today, though, is that regardless of the Presidential outcome, the media will face the judgment of history for prostituting their journalistic duties to provide the facts that the American people need and deserve to make an informed electoral choice.
And today, the task is to VOTE!

The media are worthless as objective journalists. They are the mouthpiece of the Obama Campaign, but hopefully not of the same Administration. Any faith I had in them is gone. Their credibility is gone.

Go mccain/PALIN!!!!!!!
If Barry wins, I will give him the chance he deserves to be president. I will back him until he he gives me a reason not to back him, and, at that point, I will savage him politically, not personally.
November 4th, 2008 at 10:45 pm
BTW, I’m kidding about give that Progressive a chance. I will treat him the same way Libs have treated Bush, except I will leave the personal attacks and assassination talk out of it.
