Ed. Please do nt makeafool of yourself. the Couric interview was cut and paste type journalism to make her look bad. And I would like to know anykid that had 2parents that were teachersthat dd noot know Africa was a continent. If you can find me one, please tell me where I can find them. that would be an amazing story.

And she hadto deal with Canada, you know a the NAFTA partner while governor of Alaska. And let me ask you which countries are in North America???? Is it only Canada, USA and Mexico, or do you puti n Belize, El Salvador, and a few others???? Because depending on who you are talking to, North America includes Central American countries also.

We need to purge these poltical hacks form the GOP. They are why we lost to the most liberal candidate ever for the Presidency. They have been infected with the DC disease of thinking only of themselves and not the country. And we need to purge all the corrupt Republicans, and there are many. Guess why they lost in 2006 and 2008???? They became drunken sailors just like the Democrats.

The GOP needs to get its act together, or we are going to have Left Wing Preisidents for the forseeable future.

You’re kidding, right? I know this fits the narrative in your mind that Sarah Palin is an ignorant hick from Alaska, drinking moose blood and taking away abortion rights single-handily, but, RLY? You expect me to actually believe that Sarah Palin didn’t now the countries in North America??? I mean, it is easy to forget Canada and Mexico… oh… I know, she forgot the U.S. is a country in North America. Easily done, I suppose. You know what else, I heard she thought the WORLD WAS FLAT and the SUN REVOLVES AROUND THE EARTH!!

Yes, I’m making fun of you now. I could easily say that Obama can’t speak without a teleprompter, because he doesn’t have a long-term memory and his short-term memory is only 15 seconds long, which is why David Axelrod had a computer chip implanted in Obama’s brain that he can type responses in, but when it malfunctions, it goes into a fallback mode of “uhs” and “uhs”.

Just keep closing your eyes and pretending you’re in Kansas. It’s obvious to anyone who saw the Couric interview that it’s quite plausible that Plain didn’t know Africa was a continent, and that she had, as McCain aides claim, “… real problems with basic civics, government structures, municipal, state, and federal government responsibilities. She didn’t know the nations involved in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)… She wasn’t actually able to name all of the countries in North America…”
Yes, you could tell this from her interviews, and that is why they kept her under wraps and tried not to let her speak unscripted. Most of the country recognized it.
But you just keep on denying it.

If anyone thinks that she did not know that Africa is a continent, I got a bridge in Alaska to sell you. And coming to the door in a robe, my gosh burn the Witch.

This is a pathetic attempt bythe Bushies that McCain hired for his campaign. Which was wrong all the way around, McCain is totally different from Bush and they screwed the pooch with handling Sarah. They tried to rein her in, when they should have unleashed her.

DJ, I partially agree. Trying to find a scapegoat after losing is very much part of human nature, and McCain and his supporters are no exception. That said, I think that McCain has mostly himself to blame. “Suspending” his campaign, going back to DC to vote on the bailout, and then voting for the resulting pork-laden bill (and going against his self-proclaimed image as being unfriendly to pork), pretty much threw the polls back into Obama’s favor. He actually missed a huge opportunity. Had he voted against the bailout, which Obama voted for, he could have painted Obama as being more like Bush than himself on this matter.

As for the two Republican camps, I don’t think that they’re almost opposing each other, but instead have different priorities. There are some who are socially conservative and fiscally liberal, like Huckabee, and vice versa, like Giuliani, but these two aspects of conservatism are not necessarily at odds.

Please. It’s very simple. These clowns are attempting to deflect the blame from themselves. They are worried their mishandling of the campaign, especially when it comes to Governor Palin, will cause their future employment to be problematic at best. The fact is, McCain shouldn’t have done nearly as well as he did and that is all because of Palin. They ought to be taking credit for that, and acknowledging her role in that relative success.
I also am appalled (once again, but not surprised) by the reporting of gossip, the complete lack of corroboration, the anonymous sources. I’m actually surprised by Cameron here. I thought he was a good reporter. Locker room, junior high school, teenage girl backbiting. Bah!

McCain needs someone to blame for his loss and Palin is a good scapegoat. Unfortunately the real reason why McCain lost is because Republicans are divided into two very distinct, almost opposing, groups. Social conservatives (like Palin) and fiscal conservatives (like Mitt Romney). Because McCain couldn’t appeal to social conservatives he chose Palin as a running mate. What resulted was a ticket no republican could get excited about. Social conservatives still don’t like McCain (he is too moderate) and fiscal conservatives don’t like Palin (she’s a “redneck”).
