Where’s The President? Which one?

Where’s the leadership?
In public as president-elect, Obama has addressed the auto industry crisis only three times – in his postelection news conference, a taped radio address last Saturday and an interview on CBS’”60 Minutes.”
“The Obama team has to step up,” Sen. Christopher Dodd, the chairman of the Senate banking committee and one of the lead negotiators, said in Hartford, Conn., on Friday. “In the minds of the people, this is the Obama administration. I don’t think we can wait until Jan. 20.”
Dream on folks. And for the record, President Bush is not being the leader he is still supposed to be. The auto industry bail out is a HOT POTATO no one wants to touch, and therefore it shouldn’t be…BUT Barry is showing some of his balls right now ain’t he??

President Bush has been smart to not support a “bailout” of the auto industry, atleast not without them restructuring their deals with the UAW, amongst many others. And Obama, being Obama, won’t take a stand on anything until you back him into a corner lest he can be pinned down…
If Obama and Co. want to “loan” the Big
32.5 money, let it be their fault when things fall apart. Ofcourse, I dunno if they can make it til 20 January.November 22nd, 2008 at 1:44 pm
The Democratic game plan between now and the 2010 elections is evident: blame the Bush administration for everything bad and take credit for everything that works out well.
Secondarily, they want to off-load as much unpleasantness as they can into this lame-duck session, which they can clearly attach to Bush (even though they control Congress) and in the process they want to implicate as many Republicans in Congress as possible to diffuse the responsiblity.
Still, it’s harder to blame non-action that actions that turns our badly. Thus Bush and the Republicans in Congress need to do as little as possible and let Obama and his fellow Democrats do something visible and begin to develop a record, for better or worse.
No more letting Obama get away with voting “present”…
