Letter to Me….

Posted by Duncan on December 7th, 2008

I love Brad Paisley’s music. I had fallen out of loving country music when I got out of high school. But there are still a few artists out there in country music land, like Brad, that bring me back to my roots.

Anyways, I love one of his latest songs, Letter to Me. I think it is a hit because I think all of us can relate to being 17, and not being able to look past Friday night. The future was so wide open. And with my little girls, I see it happening all over again. Ofcourse they’re so young that they can’t see past the evening meal.

oh. and before I forget… I love this one too..

Good timing. That was the last song I was listening to when I stepped out of the car a few minutes ago. That whole CD is growing on me. Online and Ticks are two more fantastic tracks. Country is having a nice resurgence lately. Another good country CD is the new one from Darius Rucker (yeah, that Hootie guy)

Two things I’ve noticed about Paisley is his style of guitar playing and his humor. I like his song Alcohol and the version of I’m Still A Guy where Hank Jr. joins him on stage. I also like most of his videos, such as Celebrity and Online, both with Bill Shatner (yeah, I’m still a Star Trek geek).

I’m not the biggest fan of country music, but what I like about it is that it lets men be men. A man can be a country singer without needing to hit notes normally reserved for women.

    Robert,

Yeah, Paisley just seems to a good guy and his music is just so well written. And yeah, I was watching the CMAs and saw that Hootie had a new country album out. He played a song from it and it wasn’t bad. Hootie always had a little bluesy-country vibe to him anyways..

    BF,

Another reason I like him is that his wife, Kimberley, looks like my wife. Good taste in wimmin!
