1-1.5 inches per hour

NH is still cleaning up from last week’s ice storm. Thousands of people are still without power and many schools are closed until January 5th. I’ve been blessed with no loss of power during this ordeal. Many of my friends haven’t been as lucky; ofcourse they’re all staying at my house, driving me somewhat MAD and CRAZY…but that is, what friends are for!
Today we got snow. The first REAL snow of the season.
MANCHESTER, N.H. — A winter storm hit New Hampshire on Friday, dumping several inches of snow in the southern half of the state.
…
Snow was expected to fall at a rate of 1-1.5 inches per hour at its height from through the evening in southern and central locations of the state.
IT DID- I’d say more.
My drive home from work was fun. NOT. But the snowmobiling AFTER work WAS fun! Then, I had to go play grown up again and assist at the diner, feeding endless groups of hungry people. Tomight we served up cheese omelets by the hundreds. We’re weird up here- breakfast food makes for great dinner fare. And eggs are in plenty of supply from the local farmers. Omelets, toast, bacon and sausage, home fries and baked beans make a hearty and filling meal.
And there’s more weather coming my way:
After a quiet Saturday, another storm system will move in Sunday morning. Snow or a wintry mix will develop in the morning and continue throughout the day.
The sled is ready. As I am! Winter has arrived in NH!!

You know all that snow was caused by climate change, right? :biglas:

Global warming at its finest William. If the globe keeps getting this hot, then Raven will have to move down here to Texas, just like in The Day After Tomorrow.

Here in MD, we’ve had some really cold December days (caused by man-made global warm, er, climate change, of course), but only a small dusting of snow. But I shouldn’t become complacent. Pretty soon the world will warm up like in The Day After Tomorrow, 100 feet of snow will fall, and I will be chased by cartoonish-looking wolves.

It’s snowed all day here: Just a slow steady fall- with an additional 4 or so inches. I love it. Just enough to keep the sleds moving. We’re getting more tomorrow which is fine with me!
Climate change freaks tell us that global warming is the cause of the changes in winters we’re having. We do get more rain and ice storms, and when I was a kid it SEEMED like we got a lot more snow- deeper, days long storms. But a kid always sees things bigger than reality.
I’m not concerned about it- I believe Mother Nature is at work and Man has nothing to do with it all.

We have been having a cool spell also, snow in the mountains, ice in the city. I am heading up to the cabin all next week snowmobiling…that is a good way to spend Christmas.
