The BIG holiday is over, for this year. My family celebrates it TODAY, because yesterday we helped families who had been without power get settled back into their freshly lit homes.
It takes a village, they say, to do this. I believe that.
One particular family had nothing; they had been staying at the regional shelter since Dec 11, and lost all their food. They had no means to go gift shopping. Their vehicle was crushed by a tree. Christmas looked pretty gloomy for them. Until a group of us decided to donate our time, money and resources to MAKE CHRISTMAS HAPPEN for them, and disregard our own holiday.
It twas’ much work to go out on December 24th, buy a tree AND decorate it, buy lots of food AND cook some of it; buy toys and other presents for three young children and their parents AND wrap them all, tuck’em under the tree, just in time, as the family returned home. Now that’s the real spirit. How many others can say they did this?
We began that adventure at 1pm Dec. 24th and finished it at 2am Christmas morning. As I stated above, we put off our own celebrations in order that someone else less fortunate than ourselves could experience a good day.
This morning, our gift exchanges seemed meek, somehow. My family and friends have always volunteered to help others, and we all get much more in return in terms of understanding the true holiday meaning.

More communities are asking employees to give up/put off their entitlement contractual raises, which irk the fuck out of me, BTW.
These communities now want a bailout of their own- to cover tax revenue losses. Uneffingbelievable. I want a bailout TOO!!! Gimme gimme.
The UAW doesn’t want to give up much when it comes to their contractual entitlements. The beggars are going to be allowed to be choosers once Barry hits the Oval Office. Did I mention how much these things piss me off?
Think President Bush’s Middle East Record is bad? Wait until Barry gets hold of things. UUGH.
Iran’s madman leader gives Christmas greetings to….BRITAIN?? We’re DOOMED.
Our CIA is offering drug induced erections in exchange for intelligence. Uh…men will do anything for a chance at sex. HOW MUCH IS THIS COSTING us?
(ACHOO) (‘cuse me) Sneeze a lot? It could be allergies. It could be a cold. Or it could be thoughts of the BIG O. Michael found a scientific explanation for some sneezes. (ACHOO!)
Ahh yes. Barry chatter. Lots of it. I see Barry and his merry men exonerated themselves from any wrongdoing in the Blago-saga. And the left soaks it up, no questions asked. Dumb fucks. Not me. I’m smart enough to KNOW that much more occurred. We just haven’t seen ALL the reports. And I doubt we ever will. Evidence will be destroyed. People will be paid off to shut up…just watch.
And I leave you all with this- a frost flower. We had SNOW up here, quite abit of it. Then it warmed up yesterday, and much melted. This morning though, it got cold again…and I saw this odd looking ice formation downtown in the park next to the river. At first, from a distance, it looked like an animal- a cat or something climbing up the tree. Pretty neat eh?

Raven, you and your friends and family really do rock. That is one of the best things I have heard of this year. You are truly a blessing to all who know you.

I just spilled my coffee. BWAHAHA I DID think of that but didn’t want to write about it.
A friend mentioned that even in the strict world of Islam, men want to be able to perform without problems. They have the same “issues” men in Western nations have; they WORRY about these things.
Now if we can just bring the women of Islam into the modern world- sexually speaking. THIS is the very ONE thing Muslim men do not want.

Thank you Michael. We’re not perfect, me or my friends. We do stupid things; we forget, we rush around in our lives and neglect to think of others. We tend to be close and knotted to one another. It’s good for us, it’s humbling, to find ourselves in situations where we NEED and MUST think of others before ourselves. One of my vows in my life is to give to others without condition. This coming year I plan to take this all a step further, too.
I don’t like bragging and that was not what my point was. I was hoping to influence others to do similar things. If we all gave just a little of what we can give, I believe so much would change: The political mindset being one…liberals would have no ground to stand on if all people did things like we did.
I know I live in a dreamworld, too. LOL Liberals are THEE most stingy people alive.
