Winter Storm Warning #14
Posted by Raven on January 10th, 2009

Teh weather outside’s gonna get frightful…before nightfall…and I’m SICK OF ALL THE DAMN ICE and SLOPPY, SLUSHY, SLICKERY. untreated, un-sanded, unsalted and barely plowed roads.
In all my life I have NEVAH seen the roads so BAD. Is it winter or is it the state’s very poor road care skills this year????
After a sunny start to Saturday, the next storm will approach later Saturday afternoon and Saturday night. Clouds, in advance of this system, will roll in late in the day(especially across southern NH). Snow will likely develop across central and southern NH Saturday Evening(right now the most likely start time is between 7-10pm, give or take an hour) with light snow showers or flurries arriving up north overnight. With a storm track now looking like it will pass through Long Island sound and Cape Cod, the precipitation will be all in the form of snow with southern NH getting into moderate-heavy bands of snow overnight. The good news is that it will be a light fluffy snow.
Any snow will end Sunday aftrenoon with some clearing late in the afternoon. Right now the most likely snowfall: Northern Coos County: 1-3 inches, Southern Coos County and White Mountains to the Lakes region: 3 to 6 inches, southern NH and northern MA: 5 to 9 inches.
Guess where I live??

There was a shortage of road salt before the winter. Prices were sky-high due to some new silly environmental regulation enacted last year.
Now with the prolonged and colder winter, some places are running out entirely, and already have. I suspect that’s what’s happened in your area. That ice storm must have used a LOT of the salt already.
Pardon me, gotta get another pina colada and turn up the A/C.

We got 11 inches in my town.
YES….nice fluffy light snow- perfect for snowmobiling!
They didn’t even PLOW the damn roads last week! Nevermind salt or sand. Pathetic. Just pathetic.
The ice storm didn’t use up much either cause the roads were actually FINE- just wet and then they dried up. The trees were covered with the ice. So they can’t use that as an excuse.
Nerds. They’re just being stingy…and yesterday’s 50 something car pile up will cause them to re-look at all this budget cutting.

Yep. I don’t know why the smilies are not working. It is still there under the settings tab, but for some reason the new upgrade isn’t showing up. Might have to go back to the older version.. darn it…
