In a few more weeks I suspect we'll get a much clearer (and scarier) picture of what's happening. However, Obama does seems to be following Alinsky's playbook quite faithfully, and that's not a good portent. Actually, it’s more like Obama is imitating Lon Chaney.

When a President alienates his opposing party, history shows us THAT party wins seats in the next mid term elections. Obama mentioned this. He knows. You do have it right: For the past 8 yrs Dems have been the losers. Yet, President Bush signed more of their legislation into law than any other President in history- only vetoing 4 pieces. Remember, the most recent Congress was and is controlled by Dems and THEY have gotten the lowest approval ratings of ANY Congress in the history of the US. Nearly 60 million of us voted for Obama's opponent. Our voices will be heard- Obama has no choice if he wishes to truly change things. Sadly, he's already pissed off more than he has pleased.
