A pig was spotted flying today: what’s this world coming to?

Posted by civil truth on January 29th, 2009

The Obama stimulus package (or perhaps more accurately Congress’ attitude towards this bill) received implied criticsm Wednesday from a most unexpected source.

Care to hazard any guesses? (No fair peeking)

Let me help out a bit…

Nope, not Pope Benedict, though the Vatican had been criticizing the Obama administration on its pro-abortion actions.

Nor is it Chris Rock, he’s just been having trouble finding anything about Obama to make fun of.

And not Mother Nature, though she managed to put the big chill on Al Gore Wednesday when he came to evangelize Washington.

Give up?

It’s Vladamir Putin. (H/T)

Yep, that Vladamir Putin, the one who’s been busy creating a new socialist dictatorship – even he’s starting to get scared at the odor that’s emanating from Washington regarding our economy.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, who has overseen the creation of government-backed national industry champions, surprised participants at the World Economic Forum in Davos on Wednesday by warning against excessive state intervention in the economy.

“The state’s role was brought to omnipotence in the Soviet Union in the last century,” Putin said in his opening address to the forum, which aims to debate a post-crisis world. “It finally led to our economy being totally noncompetitive.

“We paid dearly for that lesson. I am confident that no one would want to retry that.”

Putin, whose government is spending tens of billions of dollars in a rescue package, urged businesses to seek their own solutions to the economic hardships, saying that state aid is exhaustible and not always effective.

Now the rest of the article makes clear that Vlad is not exactly about to join the Cato Institute.

But when it comes to government spending to rescue the economy, perhaps we’d be better off with him in the Senate instead of some of our benighted Republican Senators.

And by the way, a big shout out to House Republicans who voted unanimously Wednesday to oppose the Democratic-created stimulus bill.

Ruh-roh Raggy! Looks like Commissar President Prime Minister Putin and the Soviet Russian Security Services are watching you CT.

On another note, the funny thing about socialist, and communist, governments is that the party is over when they run out of other people’s money. And this is not just about other people’s money, this is about a MASSIVE power grab, by the Democrats through the expansion of federal government, because of the “economic crisis”. This New Raw Deal is apparently supported by a majority of the American people, through a FoxNews Opinion Dynamics poll I saw yesterday. Not a “super” majority by any means, but enough people think that it needs to be done. Though I doubt a majority of those people actually know what day of the week it is either…

I’ve already noted that when Obama goes to visit Sarkozy, Merkle and Berlusconi, and maybe Netanyahu, he will be dealing with world leaders who are to his right, a reversal of Bush having to deal with Chirac and others to his left. Of course, I also realize that there’s lots of room to Obama’s right, but I never thought that Putin would be there.

From Putin? Wow, that IS a surprise.

Wow. Now this says a lot. For a communist to say America is wasting exorbitant amounts of money….just wow.

Now, if only Fidel would say it maybe the jackasses in Congress (and the president) would pay a little more attention, ’cause everyone knows all good, equitable and just policy comes from Havana.

As long as it’s anyone politically to the right of “Uncle Joe” (which excludes all but a few House jackasses and certainly Dingy Harry) they won’t listen, they will grab all the power they can ’cause they know they won’t be able to grab it in two more years. That’s the only thing this “stimulus” pile of donkey dung is about.

It certainly isn’t about what’s in the best interests of the nation (and, by extension whether they like it or not, the world.)
