British & Canadian Snipers, with the Supergun

In Afghanistan, British snipers have been using the L115A3 Long Range Rifle, known as “the long”, to take out bad guys from a mile away. One sniper, known as “Yuppie”, showed off his camouflage suit, which kinda reminds me of, well, a bigfoot. Or maybe a wookiee.
Canadians use the same gun in training for Arctic warfare.
Some info about the ammo, from the link below:
The .50 cal. round is about eight inches long and about an inch in diameter. The bullet itself is one-half inch in diameter and roughly one and one-half inches long.
Here’s what happens to the bad guys at the business end of the bullet’s trajectory, also courtesy of Canadian snipers. Warning, it ain’t pretty.

Thanks for posting this. I think I may have seen a similar video, but not as detailed, in the past. Makes you wonder two things: where can you get one of these and why is Osama still around?

The trouble is that Osama, if he’s still alive, can hide out in Pakistan, but our troops and those of our allies aren’t allowed to go in there and get him.
As for getting one of those guns, I’d guess that you’d have to join the UK or Canadian military.

That’s if Osama is still alive. I have doubts.

That “Canadian sniper” video is a hoax. The “Taliban” being shot are actually marmots, aka “rock chucks,” nailed by varmint hunters in the Rocky Mountain West of the good old USA.
But don’t take my word for it … you can see the original video on the Rocky Mountain Varmint Hunters website.

Just scroll down to “Varmint Safari II previews” and click on the “Rock chucks” clip.
