With all the news about banks getting bailed out or bought out, due to the crisis in the lending industry, this bit of news comes as a pleasant surprise. Two football players, one active and one retired, have each been helping to create a new bank. Vincent “Bo” Jackson, who played professional baseball as well as football, is one of the new organizers of the Burr Ridge Bank and Trust in Burr Ridge, Illinois. Ronnie Brown, currently on the Miami Dolphins, is a director for the Broward Bank of Commerce, which has received preliminary approval for its charter application in Florida. Jackson and Brown both played their college ball at Auburn, mainly at the position of running back.
