Texas Governor Perry and Texas House Find Their “Huevos”

Ofcourse, the below is all utter political tripe if our state representatives, combined with other states passing these resolutions, don’t have any teeth to back them up. Otherwise this is little more than an angry-worded U.N. resolution to (enter third world dictator/despot here).
“Texas Gov. Rick Perry issued a statement Thursday saying he has joined other state leaders in supporting House Concurrent Resolution 50.
The resolution aims to reaffirm state rights guaranteed under the 10th amendment of the U.S. Constitution, and to serve as a notice to the federal government that it should desist measures that go beyond its constitutionally protected powers.
“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”
Perry said Resolution 50 re-asserts Texas’ sovereignty over all powers not under the federal government’s mandated authority.
This could be little more than Perry posturing for his reelection….

If things get too bad we will go up to Concord with petitions and FIRE them all. It’s in our state constitution that we can do so. Its getting to that point.
